Exit Lee Perry. Enter Pipecock Jackxon!

The final full album to emerge from the Black Ark studio before it was burnt to the ground finds Lee Perry a very different man indeed, in fact he was now Pipecock Jackxon!
The majority of this album is outtakes from his "Roast Fish Collie Weed Cornbread" album, but the opening track "Bed Jamming" introduces the new rambling jibberish speaking persona that has been heard on every album he has done since.
Pipecock Jackxon is certainly an entertaining character to begin with here, "Bed Jamming" is a quite enjoyable track, with a rhythm and harmonies not unlike the sound of the Ark's heyday. The remaining tracks are moody and unpredictable, as with a lot of the final Ark recordings.
Of all the albums Perry released this could just be the most "upsetting" of all.
