Album Review

Looking at the cover, which shows Michael and none of his four brothers, one wouldn’t get the idea that this three-disc set is two-thirds Jackson 5 material. While Michael obviously features prominently in the Jackson 5 songs on The Motown Years, he gets one disc to himself. Altogether, this box collects all the essential J5 and Michael singles and more, including “ABC,” “Never Can Say Goodbye,” “I Found That Girl,” “I Am Love,” “The Love You Save,” “Ben,” “Rockin’ Robin,” and “I Wanna Be Where You Are.” Released in the U.K., it retails for the price of a single disc and is a convenient way to scoop up a large quantity of high-quality ‘70s pop-soul.

Price Hike to "Celebrate" his Death

Motown Rip Off Part 2. Not only have they re-released 2 classic tracks on a single at the ridiculous price of £1.49 to cash in on his death, but the price of this compilation album has increased by £3.00 as well, coincidence; I don't think so. The music on this comilation is outstanding and at £4.99 was an absolute bargain, £7.99 is still a good price to pay for 50 classic tunes but taking advantage of peoples grief at this time is another thing entirely. I would recommend that you do not buy this album at the moment due to the hysteria surrounding his death, in a few months time the album may revert to it's previous price and would then be well worth the investment. I am just really annoyed that Michael Jackson's Loyal and Loving fans are being treated in this way just so a record company can try to maximise the situation for it's own benefits. UPDATE !!! This Album has now been increased to £9.99, the GREED of some people amazes me but certainly does not surprise me, buy the music elsewhere, new albums by todays top musicians do not sell for this amount of money.

The Motown Years 50 - 10/10

If you are more into Michael Jackson's early years then this is the album to get. It has every great hit from the Jackson 5 and Michael's first solo albums. I bought this album after hearing of his passing and i have loved listening to it. The songs are incredible, the best songs are ABC, Never Can Say Goodbye, Ready Or Not (Here I Come), Who's Lovin' You, I'll Be There, I Want You Back, The Love You Save, You've Got A Friend, One Day In Your Life, Rockin' Robin, Ain't No Sunshine, Music and Me and the incredible Ben. Michael Jackson's music is timeless and will be played for years to come. R.I.P Michael Jackson, the King Of Pop, a Legend, an Inspiration and the greatest entertainer there ever will be. We will all miss you!

RIP Michael Jackson we all love ya

I'm rating him not the selfish greed of iTunes and the greed of the record labels 2 price increases for extra money. Have some respect. Fans are distrought as it let alone paying to fill your pockets. RIP MJ we all miss ya

Michael Jackson wasn't merely the biggest pop star of his era, shaping the sound and style of the '70s and '80s; he was one of the defining stars of the 20th century, a musician who changed the contours of American culture. A preternaturally gifted singer and dancer, Jackson first rose to stardom in 1969 as the 11-year-old frontman for his family's band, the Jackson 5. As remarkable a run as the Jackson 5 had -- at the dawn of the '70s, each of their first four singles went to number one and they...
