Solid Slash album

This is a mixed bag...spans from middle of the road, generic "modern rock" in the Alter Bridge vein to a few really classic Slash moments. A few of the songs (Safari Inn, Dirty Girl and Avalon come to mind after 3 listens) compare favourably with his best guitar work. Its a grower.... more so than Apocalyptic Love which I thought was full of more "immediate" crowd pleasing classics like Anastasia, Halo and Bad Rain. Probably fewer memorable songs and riffs, overall, than Apocalyptic Love. I think it would have been a better album with fewer songs and some of the "filler" removed. Myles has a great set of pipes and is (today) a better singer than Axl but his lyrics will never have the same edginess. 3 stars overall with a couple of 4.5/5 moments.

Best Slash Album

this in my opinion is slash’s greatest album of late & on par with guns if not better, pure rock at its best. this is so much better than apocalyptic love. Bent to fly is a killer track & one of my favourites on this album. Myles Kennedy sounds more at home with this production too, some tracks feel like alter bridge, killer riffs, just poor greatness & elvis has done amazing in production too.

Outstanding *****

Not often I review albums but this latest effort from Slash is not your average every day album it's simply outstanding from start to finish, 17 tracks and all superb.
