Composed by Frenchman Bruno Coulais, the soundtrack to Coraline is a unique and atmospheric accompaniment to the Oscar-nominated stop-motion animation based on Neil Gaiman's novel. Featuring 32 pieces of classical music and brief vocal contributions from actress Teri Hatcher ("Dreaming," "Mechanical Lullaby"), it also includes the Children's Choir of Nice, the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, and musicians Hélène Breschand and Christophe Grindel, alongside a new 28-second track by U.S. alternative rock duo They Might Be Giants ("Other Father Song"). ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi
Brilliant Music, but just one problem....
The music was utterly fantastic, and this album would be getting 5 stars, if it wasn't for the slightly disappointing 2-3 seconds pause between each song. This is not a fault of gapless playback, but there are two to three seconds of pure nothingness at the end of each song, furthering their length and technically omitting gapless playback.
Creepy and beautiful
Superb- gothic, mythical and childlike, it fits perfectly with the mood of the book and the film. Best tracks are Coraline Fly, Trap for the Mices and the end credits. Also, the other father song, but its really short. An amazing album, definitely buy!
That's Coraline, not Caroline.
A fantastic album for a fantastic film. Love the Other Father Song and Dreams Are Dangerous, really captures the tone of the book and the film.
