James Taylor - One man band

Just like a good wine JT has got better with age. His voice is top form on this CD and the quality sound for only two people is just amazing. Stand out song is my "traveling star" from his last studio album October Road. What a great xmas present this is for all fans and if you don't know his work what better introduction .Enjoy !! and come on James " shower the people you love " in 2008 with a another CD.

If you like your music intimate and real.......nowhere else to go!

The best concert my wife and I have seen in a long time occurred in Wolverhampton, England courtesy of this man. How excited were we when we learned that this live CD is accompanied by a DVD of the same concert but performed earlier in the year at the small theatre of his local town. And, you know what, when I watched the DVD it transported me right back. The concert was intimate, close to the audience, low key but immensely high quality. The man is not only a musical genius but generous, humble and very funny too. This CD/DVD is a must purchase for fans but also for those, too, with eclectic tastes who will appreciate fine singing and musicianship. For me, my album of the year - and that's a close run thing because the next in the queue is a killer too. Buy it now!! M

A work of genius

This album is excellent in some parts and extraordinary in others. The playing is sublime and the vocal ranges from soulful to plain eerie. James Taylor has a wonderful gift and his writing will affect any thinking person.

In the early '70s, when he appeared with his introspective songs, acoustic guitar, and calm, understated singing style, he mirrored a generation's emotional exhaustion after tumultuous times. Just as Bing Crosby's reassuring voice brought the country out of the Depression and through World War II, Taylor's eased the transition from '60s activism and its...
