Disappearing data connections
This app could be so, so good but, as with the rest of the “connected” apps, it’s full of bugs and holes.
The app looks pretty good on the massive screen in my 2018 Superb SE exec but only some of the information is reliably presented.
When setting up the Widgets to display you will very often find missing options. For instance, there is a very nice BHP screen with a dial showing the amount of power the car is generating. It’s a real eye opener to see that it takes just 22 of the 220bhp to keep the car at a cruise on the motorway. This dial disappears after a while. It might be present when you start the app for a while week and then not there and not available a day later. The same goes for the the little gauges you can have as an alternative. It’s not the car at fault as this happens whether the app is connected or not.
It’s just another example of Skoda not finishing a project as well as they finish their cars.
Absolute joke- don’t bother
Don’t bother downloading this app. Apple car play and this app are so bad, you’ll spend more time getting them both to work than actually recording your journeys. On your 5th attempt at getting car play to actually stay connected for more than 10 seconds, the app will merge your last drive into your new drive, so you get gigantic lines connecting the start/finish points. Support is also rubbish “are using latest version of the app? Have you uninstalled and reinstalled?” Yes and yes and it actually makes it worse by doing this!
Connectivity- heads up
This app is great now I’ve got it to work in my new Octavia 1.5 technology. At first it didn’t work through Apple car play(via the icon) it kept asking me to connect via usb or wifi. After much faffing about I discovered it doesn’t work if you have the app open on your phone. It now works perfectly (provided the iPhone apps closed) Maybe the developers should take note and make users aware of this glitch.
