## Fixed

Not good enough for a paid subscription service app

This is the latest version and it still will not install as it thinks 1Password is open when it isn’t. I’m becoming progressively jaded by the experience and I feel less secure with every passing day. There’s also a feeling that this company seems to think we’re all hi-tech coder brained and have an automatic understanding of their intentions when they bury something in the name of what they think is utility - how are we supposed to know what you did with it? Its time you guys realised you’ve gone from being a tech startup and face the fact us normals - you know, the customer, needs to be taken into consideration from a user perspective and not a coder perspective. What you think matters really doesn’t most of the time. It’s going from simple and secure to bloated and complex. Thats not a good thing. You’re drive towards profitability over individual user utility is clear and you’re loosing much of the advantage you had over the competition. Look at your star rating - it used to be 5 now its hardly 3.5. I’m going to give you 30 days to fix this install issue. After that, I’m gone.

Gymdude ,

Great product - it works and is worth the money!

I’ve been using 1Password for a long time. Was also surprised to see the move to a subscription model but, you know, for all you whiners out there - these guys are a business and have to make money, or they don’t survive and then you have no password manager to compain about being charged for. It’s that simple! If you don’t want to pay - go back to writing things down in word documents or post-its or find another (not as good, as far as I’ve found) password manager. You’ll have something to complain about in the future when they start charging too.

I’ve upgraded to 7 just now and happily paid the annual fee- worth every penny for peace of mind that their solution works seamlessley across all my devices and I don’t ever have to worry about syncing or finding passwords.

Indespensible for me. Well done AgileBits - keep it up!

Thanks very much for the kind words, Gymdude! Ben Woodruff, 1Password

Sticking with v.6 for now

I downloaded version 7 to check out the new features but quickly found that I couldn't access any without paying a subscription. That's fair enough. I've previously bought my 1Password apps outright with pro upgrades. I saw that was still available but in the description it seems to imply that not all features work with a license as opposed to subscription. So I'm holding off until I can find out for sure what I'd be paying for.

But having upgraded temporarily my version 6 app (which was thankfully available in a back up after it got trashed by the upgrade) now seems to have been crippled by the version 7 upgrade process. So now I'm going to have to fix my sync-issues. Deleting the version 7 app is also a tedious process with background helper apps preventing deletion etc. The experience has made me feel like everything conspired to prevent me going back to version 6 which was before the upgrade working absolutely fine. Hence the low rating.

Developer Response ,

Hi there! You should be able to go back to version 6 just by installing that version once again, provided you didn't delete the data folder as well. Please send an email to our support team at so we can see what happened and so we can also tell you all the differences between the standalone version and a 1Password Membership. Thank you!
