What's New in Version 1.2
* Universal support
* Minor graphical fixes
5 minutes later, already love it
Just turn on touch controls (tilt controls are dumb at the best of times) and you're in business.
Now I don't need to fire up my old Amiga or UAE to play something very similar to the old Lotus games - the best part is it's not just some quick port of an old game. It's an actual modern game with a modern interface and features, but which takes you back to the early 90s when you play it. Top stuff.
It's really 16 bit-esque, but GREAT!
What a lovely slick racer. Despite (that's not a negative) the retro graphics and sound, it's beautifully written. It's incredibly reminiscent of Amiga and SNES era games. Not exactly 8 bit! It's definitely modelled on 16 bit racers like Lotus Challenge (Amiga/ST) or Top Gear (SNES). No bad thing at all.
Anyway, everything is just right on this game. Super responsive controls, great retro graphics and brilliant sound to boot.
...but change the name! I'm not the only one to have suggested this.
It's 1990 again!
Awesome game, loads of fun a brings back some great memories of the Amiga! I have a few suggestions for improvements though:
1) Please make the brake lights brighter
2) Make the coloured bands on the tyres contrast more to give a better sense the wheels are turning
3) When the AI cars are right next to you at the front of the screen, they are almost twice the size of your car; please fix this!
4) Can you make the front of the car rise and dip when going uphill/downhill like in Outrun and Lotus Challenge etc; that would really make this super sweet!
Otherwise this is a superb racer and the 'chip-tunes' type music is also very good! Cheers!
