Listen live to Absolute Radio on your Mac! The Absolute Radio App for Mac allows you to discover real music with Absolute Radio, enjoy the best undisputed classics of 1980s with the UK’s only 80s station – Absolute 80s, experience Absolute Classic Rock – the Home of the Great British Guarantee, and try the UK’s only 90s radio station, Absolute Radio 90s. Finally you can hear the best music from the noughties on Absolute Radio 00s.
It’s the best way to guarantee you won’t miss a moment, whether it’s the Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show, Geoff Lloyd’s Hometime Show, Ian Wright’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Football, or Frank Skinner on Saturdays.
What's New in Version 1.3
Don’t bother - hasn’t been updated since it launched
As you can see from the screenshot, this app hasn’t been updated since launch - in the screenshot it’s running on OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - and it shows. It does still have its basic functionality, playing the radio stations, but the newer stations Absolute Radio 60s and 70s are missing and you can’t log in using your Absolute Radio account to hear less adverts like they promote so much on the station. Any advantages that a standalone program may have are not here, there’s no menu bar item to hide it for example, and you can’t switch to other radio stations like on the Radioplayer on the web. Unless it gets a major update any time soon, I’d say don’t bother and just use the Radioplayer on the Absolute Radio website.
I listen to this on DAB and also have it installed on my ipad and phone!! great music and it works all over the country!! A must have if you like music from the 80s and 90s
It Works, but could be better!
It does work and works well, no buffering etc, like others. But annoyingly it does not allow you to log into your Absolute Radio Account, which cuts out adverts and gives you extra songs.
