*** AeroWeather: for pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and everyone who is serious about the weather!
*** Current and precise weather conditions (METAR) and forecasts (TAF).

AeroWeather Pro provides quick and intuitive access to METAR and TAF for airports worldwide. Data can be shown in its original (raw) format or as fully decoded and easy understandable texts. AeroWeather Pro is helpful for weather preflight-briefings, but also to just get very precise weather. All weather data is cached for offline access.

In addition to weather data, AeroWeather Pro integrates also airport NOTAMs (provided by US FAA), webcam images around airports (provided by, FlightService access (US only), and US ATC delay information (provided by US FAA). AeroWeather Pro also offers built-in groups for earthquakes, nearby stations, and today widget, which can be individually enabled on the top level view. Besides creating user groups it’s also possible to put stations on the same level user groups (e.g. home base). Depending on your needs, groups can be shown or hidden in the main list view. User groups can also be synchronized via Cloud Kit*.

The app features a built-in airport database, which includes airport data like runways, sunrise/sunset, twilight times, moon times, timezones etc.

METAR alert notifications** is another new and helpful feature to stay up-to-date. Define multiple alerts for each station with the following criteria: flight rule (US NOAA), wind speed, temperature, pressure, present weather, visibility, and ceiling (BKN and OVC). Notifications will be sent to your device if the criteria is met (e.g., when wind is greater/equal 10 kts, flight rule becomes IFR).

Dedicated METAR/TAF** access is optionally available. METAR/TAF data will come primarily from certified ANSP (air navigation service provider) MeteoSwiss and is provided reliably and fast from our dedicated, redundant servers (indicated by blue checkmark underneath METAR/TAF).

The AeroPix feature offers users the possibility to take quickly picture(s) of the weather at their current location. The pictures will be available to all other pilots (on the map or within an airport detail view) helping them to get a better idea about local conditions.

AeroWeather Pro comes with an Apple Watch app, which shows either a list of stations as defined in the Apple Watch group or all nearby stations based on the current location. METAR and TAF are displayed for each station. In addition, you can put AeroWeather as a complication in your watch face to stay up-to-date.

An iMessage app is also included which lets you easily send METAR/TAF of any airport to other users.

Please consult our web-site for a full description of all features.

This is one of the essential few apps that everyone who flies seems to use

Frankly I am surprised by the many poor reviews on here. I have used this app for many years and everyone I know who flies professionally has it and relies on it. I can only assume that the harsh criticism is because when the developer makes a mistake and the functionality that so many people need is lost is brings out some very strong impassioned responses - testament to how much people need and rely on this. Anyway, it all seems to function really well for me and I am a big fan of this essential app. The problem that people had now seems to have been fixed. In the long term the now low overall star rating this app has will make little difference as people get this app based on word of mouth recommendation. But people might do well to remember that the score they give an app should reflect the overall app quality and not be a petulant protest because it has a temporary problem. You are getting an app that costs very little and is very useful from a developer who could choose to be a lot more greedy.

Has the history gone?

Still getting used to the new look... but first impressions favourable, clean fresh look, looks like it is still the quick and easy way to grab airport weather.

Initial worry that the metar history had gone was cleared once I went into settings and switched on the history.

So have a look around the settings to check what is in there.

What’s gone wrong?

As a professional pilot this has been my go to weather app for years. It would update with one finger swipe in seconds and was totally reliable.
Now, more often than not, it won’t load or takes an age in doing so if it does.
Please sort it out or I will, very regrettably, have to go elsewhere as I can no longer count on it when I need it most.
Please lose the adverts as well - I don’t pay good money for an app to have adverts popping up when what I desperately want to see is the latest weather!
