Alarmy (Sleep If U Can) is the innovative solution for those who just can’t seem to get up on time, even with an alarm clock. This app has been cleverly designed to force you to get out of bed. You set it up by registering a photo of an area or room in your house. Then once the alarm is set, the ONLY way to make it stop ringing is to get out of bed and go take a photo of the registered area.

The World’s Most Annoying Alarm
Dubbed as “the world’s most annoying alarm”, Alarmy has quickly become a favorite mobile app among users. It has been featured in Gizmodo, Cnet, and at Huffington Post, and is currently Number One in its category in 70 countries, including France, Germany, and South Korea.

Users are truly enjoying this app and many have devised their own unique methods around the alarm’s requirements. For instance, you could register the foot of the bed as your location, then you would only need to wake up enough to take a pic of the foot of your bed and then go right back to sleep. Of course, this totally circumvents the whole purpose of the app but has become a fun pastime for many users.

Works Better Than Other Alarm Clocks
Other creative locations that users have come up with include the ceiling of their room, a nightstand, or the floor. If you’re more serious about really getting up on time, then how about registering the bathroom sink or an item in the kitchen?

Though the app has sparked lots of interest and has proven to be really entertaining, it will definitely get you out of bed. If you absolutely MUST get up on time for an important appointment or job interview, then this would be the perfect solution.

Best alarm clock I've ever used

I loved my old alarm app because it trapped my sleep, which was fine for someone with no mornings, but I've recently had to change that and the other one was letting me down (let me snooze longer if I had a "poor" sleep and I'd be late!).
I wasn't expecting much from an alarm app, but this one is everything I didn't even know I wanted. There is loads of options to choose from in regards to how you want to wake up (maths, puzzle, scan etc.) and you can turn off snooze (horrible but necessary!).
I chose maths as I'm awful at it so I have to really think! Four questions and by the second my brain is switching on and by the fourth I'm alert and fully awake.
There are also lots of options for alarm sounds AND a sleep noise option with a timer (amazing and so unexpected). It even tells you your horoscope and the weather and news.
It's early days yet but first impressions using it for 3 days is I wish I would have tried this sooner. My other app is great for days off but this is the real deal for if you are like me and have the best intentions but morning you has totally different ideas!

Amazing, but one little suggestion!

When my usual alarm goes off in the morning, I don’t ‘wake up’ - instead, a primitive part of my brain who’s soul purpose is to ensure I get the longest sleep possible is engaged and has resulted in many a missed event or meeting.

Alarmy has completely changed my life.

I chose the barcode option and used a barcode from my kitchen, by the time I’ve walked down the stairs and disabled the ringer I am fully in control of my faculties and ready to start the day! Instantly, I am now a proper adult.

I have one little suggestion to the app developers that I think would make this app even better. Unfortunately ‘sleepy me’ is very crafty and the second time I used this app, I figured out I could just delete it to silence the alarm and return to snoozeland. I’ve had my partner set a restrictions passcode on my iPhone that prevents me from deleting any apps, so there is a way to circumvent this issues - BUT, it would be amazing if it could be set up that you can only delete this app when the alarm is not in progress as it’s a bit inconvenient having to wait till the end of the day to have my partner take away the restriction if I want to delete one of my app. I understand Apple may have restricted the power to do this though, hence why I have still reviewed with a deserved 5 stars rather than 4 to show its amazing but could be better with a little change! Keep it up Alarmy :-)!

Developer Response

Hi. This is Delightroom. Thank you so much for sharing your valuable feedback and we are very sorry that you experienced problem with Alarmy. Unfortunately, Alarmy can’t provide “prevent app uninstall” or “prevent phone turn-off” in iOS. It is impossible to implement technically within the iOS policy.
We are delighted to hear that your experience with Alarmy was good! If there are any issues that come up during your use of Alarmy, please let us know.

Ingenious

This is pure perfection right here. This is everything you’ve ever wanted as an alarm in one single app. The normal iOS alarms are terrible and you can never wake up to them. What this app does is intelligent. They whole concept of doing a certain task to switch off your alarm works surprisingly well so that the alarm will just keep going off until you finally do it. If you need to get up at a certain time like me, trust me, this app is perfect for that. It’s also a lot louder as well compared to the normal iOS alarm app.

The app also even includes some sleep music to listen to. I really like this idea and I think they should definitely develop this idea further with even more great sounds as well as different variations of sounds they have so you can listen to deferent ones each night (e.g. fireplace in a log cabin, fire with wind sounds, fire with thunder sounds etc.).
