Used to be amazing. Now it's trash.
Here's the problem with this game, I look for it on the store and I see Angry Birds Marketing, Angry Birds Unwanted Sequel, Angry Birds Junk, and after an age of shifting through garbage I find Angry Birds. The problem is, the other games are not enjoyable like Angry Birds used to be because they are to EASY. Normally kids and adults could enjoy some of the birds on a train or in a waiting room. But now it's so simple that only the 3-12 age group can enjoy it. And in app-purchases that make the the game even more easy grind my gears. Why? Because nobody likes them. They are the tyrants of the App Store. And they are in Angry Birds. But you say: "But Captain Smek the eagle was always a thing". Ok, but the eagle wasn't forced and when you used it you got a big fat stamp and no stars because you used it. Also it didn't feel like rovio are trying the shove it down your dry throat. Power ups are constantly showing up (the blue bomb stage was just an advertisement) and if you use them it's like "Oh wow you are so pro! Thanks for wasting your money!". And Angry Birds is paid for, but it feels like you HAVE to pay tens times more. Great for the people at the profit end, heartbreaking for everyone else. This had so much promise. Unless rovio do something, they better stop wasting my oxygen. 22%- needs to shush.
Used to love this game
In fact to write this review I had to delete my old 5 star review. Hadn't played it for a long time, as I don't use my iPhone for work anymore. But today I thought have a go on angry birds, launched the game, all my progress has disappeared, and I've had this game for over 6 years, so I'd progressed pretty far, I had very few levels left to get 3 eggs on. So I have to start again? Looked in Game Center, all my meddles and honors are there, but all my scores are at zero in the actual game.
I don't play so many games these days - but this looked like fun, so I downloaded the free version and quickly got fed up with the ads and in-app purchase offers. So I bought the full version. Now I find that if I want to progress beyond where I've got, I have to pay more. This might be a modern business model but I'm afraid I'm used to earning bonuses in game play, not having to buy them. I won't be buying them, so it's a big "thumbs down" from me.
