Were you a vaguely weird preteen? Did you own multiple horse shirts? (You may be entitled to compensation.) Then, like us, you might remember longing for the coveted but elusive back-to-school glow-up. You make your triumphant return from summer break—your hair is longer, you’re wearing every flavor of Lip Smackers, your crush finally notices your horse shirt. “Who is that?” your peers whisper as you glide past. The lockers part. You ascend into the sky. Or something like that.
But did we ever successfully blossom into middle school royalty? You’ll have to consult our diaries (spoiler: no). Instead, we’ve projected all that energy onto Asana, which has recently had a glow-up of its own. We redesigned headers, sort options, filters, and more for a unified and efficient layout. Now you can spend less time searching for stuff and navigate across your tasks, projects, and inbox with ease.

Incredible app
Incredibly powerful functions that have become integral to my workflow. The apps integration with my iOS and the web based service make working in teams so convenient! I often send a link to blank project while I populate projects.
As for keeping myself organised, invaluable. From my daily to-do lists, weekly tasks, Month end goals and yearly goals are all in their projects. The flexibility of the app helps me structure any project in a way I can follow and understand, share, keeps a central location for all projects and allows me to plan prospective projects and leave the notes for the future.
Beware of you ever want to leave Asana
We signed up to a brief trial of Asana but decided it wasn't for us compared to an alternative option we found. We therefore decided to close our account. First, we couldn't find a way to do that ourselves in settings so contacted customer service. We requested they close our account and delete all data held. We got a reply saying we had time left on our free trial and they ignored the deletion request. We again requested they close and delete our account data. We then got an email asking for written confirmation from all users along with confirmation we were in the UK (and subject to protection from GPDR). We replied and have just received the following that states:
"Taking into account the complexity of the process, your request will be carried out over the course of the next three months in accordance with the permitted timelines set out in Article 12(3) of the GDPR beginning on the day you have written to confirm that we can deactivate your account."
So we try our a service briefly and they make it as difficult and long winded as they can when we simply ask them, as is our legal right, to remove the data they hold? If this doesn't concern potential users of their service then I don't know what will. Avoid this company and their awful data privacy practices.
Entrapment
I hate it when developers tie you in. I want to delete my account entirely. I can’t find a way to do this. There is an option to ‘deactivate’ it but you still remain on their system. If you still choose to deactivate your account then you CANNOT do it via iOS you must use a computer. If you want to contact customer support then you CANNOT do it via iOS, yet again you must use other means. If you want to change your email address then you CANNOT do it via iOS!!! This is 2018!!! I don’t want to be chained to my desk to do anything! I want to be able to do what I like via my phone. This is absolute rubbish. I absolutely abhor companies like this that tie you in and trap you as much as possible. They make it difficult for you to leave for their own statistics. I’m gutted that I had to give one star even. 👎🏼 If the developer is reading this, then please add a ‘delete account’ option (or deactivate if you must) for mobile phone users!
