An Actual Review
I personally haven’t suffered with any of the problems other reviewers have stated. In my eyes this game sets the bench mark in playability, graphics and rivalry, not only do you have two touch screen options, Asphalt also has motion control which although some say is too sensitive my 3 year old niece managed just fine. As you progress through the game there are many locations/levels with various challenges in each, lots of upgrades to chose from between vehicles and parts so you won't get bored. There's also an option to see your world ranking and pit it out against other gamers. Sound tracks are not offensive to the ear and compliment the game but the drifting noise can get annoying at times. The negative side is this game lacks what previous titles had in the presence of the police, it can be too easy to escape them and there are no roadblocks to avoid along the way (that I've come across). It would also be better to make it harder to get upgrades but then this depends on the users tactics on which girl to use. In my honest opinion I think this game is worth every penny, although beware it is very addictive (you've been warned).
Room for improvement!
This is a great game...but it does have some things that really bother me. I'll start if with the bad features of the game and then move on to what I like about this.
Firstly, the controls are terrible in this! Even though you get three different choices of controls, neither of them are good! Was hoping for a normal tilt steering control, but once you choose that option it automatically uses nitro when you slightly tilt it forward! Very annoying!
Another con about this game is the drifting. I hate it. Doesn't need to be in it. That's all I'm going to say about that.
Now onto the pros of the game:-
As a whole, I like this game. There is plenty of maps and games to choose from which is great.
The graphics are satisfactory...could be better, could be worse!
The Bugatti Veyron! Makes this game great just by having this historic, record breaking car! (Although it does take time unlocking it!)
This game is well worth it at £0.59!
When it was £3.49 I never thought of buying it, even when I saw the good reviews it had been given.
What I'm saying briefly is... This game is great, good graphics, a range of tracks and game types, plenty of cars Inc. the Bugatti Veyron. Although the controls are bad this is well worth the 59p
Great game, just make sure you download it through iTunes!
I have been waiting a long time for a decent racing game with good graphics and good variety. This is the game I've been waiting for, excellent graphics for its price, a respectably long campaign with many races and cars to choose from, and if you have a mate with the same app you can race him over wi-fi, something else I've been waiting for. But this game is not without its faults, so far it has not crashed on me, but there are allot of people who have had this problem, and its because they bought it on the mobile app store, I bought it directly from iTunes, not from my device. As I've read that there is a known fault with the mobile app store where it, sometimes, misreads files once they have been installed, this is very rare but it seems to effect larger apps more often, so if your having trouble with crashing, try to reinstall the app using iTunes. Don't be put off by the reviews of slow frame-rate and crashes as I get none of that at all on my ipod touch, just make sure you use iTunes to install! I'm sure Apple is addressing this problem as we speak.
