Now you can view full cover art from the iPhone player screen. Tap on the center of the cover to dismiss the player controls that are obstructing the art, and tap on it again to bring the controls back. In particular, this is good news for our children's books with synchronized images.
Listeners can view book info and mark their title as "finished" directly from the library. To access both these features, tap and hold on the book in the library, and a new menu will pop up with these two options.
Effective and easy to use app
I have been using Audible for several years since before The big A took it over and never really had any problems.
I search out my books and make any purchases on PC first then on my iPad refresh my library and download directly onto my iPad.
One thing that is a bit annoying is that when you've finished a book and deleted it still shows up shows up as being greyed out - that's fine but it's all too easy to start downloading it again by accident and then when you stop it, it then shows up as being partially read. This can be confusing if you are listening to a number of books.
There should be a function which says something to the effect of, "You've already read this title once. Are you sure you want to download it again?"
I rarely write reviews but this is possibly my favourite of the hundreds of apps I have. It is simple to use, has thousands of books to download and the new update, which allows you to see the book synopsis, ironed out the only complaint I'd have had (if, like me , you download dozens of books then you don't always remember which is which; the synopsis now let's me re-read the blurb so I can make an informed choice each time - before it was rather "stab in the dark" at times). I would argue that this is an essential app for any tablet owner.
For me, as a teacher, it's been a life-saver; marking workload was severely restricting any reading time but now I listen while I mark - perfect!
A great selection of books and really brilliant narrators that bring the book to life, excellent value way to get regular expensive audio books cheaper.
I've always like reading and couldn't get on with audio books then. Now that reading is harder for me, this has been a life saver.
Setting how long it will play for before requiring you to touch the screen is excellent and stops you missing parts of the story.
I've had other readers, but for ease of use, book selection, narration and cost, this blows everything else out the water.
I big fan, just incase I didn't make that clear ;)
