Not good enough

Autocar has been my favourite motoring magazine for a very long time, but after about two years of battling with this app and plenty of correspondence with the friendly team at Pixelmags I am giving up and going back to paper. I prefer e-mags (I travel often) but the app's not good enough and is not getting better in any way. Firstly, it's nothing more than a glorified pdf of the magazine. That's got plusses and minuses. You get the ENTIRE magazine, ads and all. I like that. However, because a full magazine page is unreadable on an ipad it results in an endless and tedious process of zooming in and out, in and out, in and... You get the picture. I don't like it, but I can just about live with it. So, secondly, I have had enough of Wednesday morning battles to download the new issue. This morning there was an iOS upgrade and sure enough, several hours later, I have still not managed to get this week's edition. The postman also needs to earn a living. Let him bring me my Autocar. I propose you do the same.

Really not good enough

Considering the Autocar editorial team pride themselves on their digital savviness and approach this really is not up to scratch.

It often crashes, and regularly (pretty much every edition) doesn't recognise my existing subscription and I have to log in again.

And, as other reviewers point out is quite often late. Given that Autocar comes out on a Wednesday I like to peruse the mag on my device before getting my hands on the magazine which is now redundant. I might as well just stick with the magazine which is a real shame as the editorial team in other regards clearly get digital.

Not good enough

I have to agree with the other reviews here. The reliability of this app is not good enough. New issues rarely appear on time or download without issue. I'm often forced to log in and out, and even delete and re-download the whole app as a way of viewing newly published issues. This has been the same for years. Why can they not stick to the publishing schedule of a new copy appearing each and every Wednesday?
