doesn't work. at all.

I like the design of this app but its downlhill thereafter. I could not get it to function in any way at all after nearly an hour of trying. The developer’s support link takes you to an advert for the ios version and clicking on ‘support’ takes you to ‘leave a comment’ so here I am. First off after installing the app you get an exclamation mark saying ‘where is your itunes XML file’? Good question, I have no idea and had to Google it. That’s right step 1 od using this app leads to Googling a technical question. I happened also to see from my Google search that you have to turn on ‘share iTunes Library XML with other applications’ in itunes preferences. Good job I spotted that. Anyway this enables you to set up an alarm, select a playlist to play... and wait. For nothing to happen. Then it turns out (from a pop up box that comes on when you try to quit!) you need a seperate program ‘AwakeHelper’ if you want the app to work when your Mac is asleep (pretty much an essential requirement). So I downloaded that seperately and away we go, set alarm, wait. Nothing happens. It doesnt work awake, asleep, comotose or dead. I’ll be getting my money back then.

Rubbish – avoid

After purchasing this app it has done nothing but continually crash when launched. On contacting the developer I received a reply almost a week later telling me to delete the folder created by the app in my Library folder. I did this to no avail. I was then told by the developer to drag the app to the waste, delete it and then reinstall it from the App store. Great, so what happens next... Yep, you've guessed it, the App store still tells me that I have the app installed. So I contact the developer again asking him how I can reinstall the app I have deleted when the App store won't let me and if this isn't possible, can I have my money back. Another week goes by and I simply get a message telling me that my support ticket query has 'been closed'.
The fact that this app doesn't work is now a known issue as it is listed on the Embrace 'Support' page as a bug.

Waste of money...

Doesn't work on Retina MBP

Lauren Smith

Installed it, and it's helper app, on retina mbp. It loads itself a minute before as it should do, but when it starts the alarm it just cycles through the playlist several songs per second thus not allowing any of their sounds to start. Furthermore the interface for the alarm (not the whole software, just the alarm when playing) shows only a small portion of it with an outline of where the rest should be. This is clearly it's inability to adapt to the resizing that goes on for the new retina macbook. I wish I hadn't purchased this, I found an old piece of free software (Alarm Clock 2.45) that I used years ago that still works a dream instead and also lets you choose individual songs rather than forcing you to choose a playlist like this one.
