Just gets better and better
There are a number of things things I find are great about this app: 1. Easy navigation 2. Newly updated reading history, shows the verses most recently read as shortcuts 3. Sync across devices 4. Note and tag functions, easy to use and sync too 5. Unobtrusive reading (buying) suggestions 6. Easy shifts between texts 7. Easy to compare two texts with the study centre 8. Great integration of Strong’s ( I use NASB with enhanced Strongs dictionary) 9. Highlighting is easy too, choice of colours and underlining and it links across different versions. 10. Really handy copy feature that means I can copy across to Pages for writing messages or Keynote for presenting. (I’m using the iOS version - iPhone & iPad) 11. I love the way it’s all there and I don’t have to look for downloads (well if I stick to the purchases I’ve already made) really great when off-grid (only have to worry about power!) I have used this app for a number of years now, looked at other Bible apps but this is what works for me. Keep up the great work developer people, thank you.
I love the Olive Tree Bible App
I have a number of Bible Apps on my phone. And although I don’t use the Olive Tree Bible App all the time, it is nevertheless one of the Bible Apps I ALWAYS go to again and again for its ease of use, for the special promotions you get every now and then on good books, bible Commentaries, Bible Translations and occasionally Audio-Books. Talking about ease of use, I like the way the User Format can be customised in A NUMBER OF WAYS to suit your particular preference, so that you have ALL you need at your fingertips, and CAN JUST TAP a word or a phrase or a bible verse and UP COMES ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED (assuming you’ve taken advantage of a number of the“good stuff” that gets given to registered account holders either FREE or at a highly-subsidised PROMOTIONAL PRICE every now & then!), WITHOUT LOSING YOUR PLACE WHERE YOU’RE READING. I also like that you do NOT HAVE TO PAY EXTRA TO HAVE PARALLEL-READING FEATURE enabled on the app - This is an EXCELLENT FEATURE that enables you to have TWO BIBLE TRANSLATIONS open at once OR A Bible Translation and a Bible Commentary opened at once, for example, and SYNCHED WITH ONE ANOTHER. I’ll definitely recommend the app. And thanks for reading!
Better than Logos...?
For those who know Logos Bible Software, they will know that it is expensive and there is quite a learning curve in using it. I am a Logos 6 user but my day to day bible software is made by Olive Tree. I would heartily recommend this application, especially if you're willing to buy some additional books, as the more products you have in your library the better the application becomes. I have used the Bible reading plans for years now, at the end of a year, the one I use takes you through the New Testament and Psalms twice and the Old Testament once. It is so accessible (as well as legible) especially on your mobile, that one can take advantage of those odd minutes throughout the day. The 'resource centre' feature really is excellent and of course is especially useful on an iPad, where one has more real estate. All in all, a wonderful application that has just gotten better over the years I take my hat off to the developers - thank you, from a busy Vicar.
