What’s New

Version 9.2.3

This update is mostly a bug fix release, just stuff we have tinkered with, and things we have adjusted, all of which are too boring to talk about, but, rest assured they will make your experience marginally better... every little helps as they say. Although, if you do love an account creation process, then we have done some UI/UX work to make those much slicker and those things you can see.

Impressive layout

I really like the new app and layout. I am not interested in celebrities, soaps and tv news and wish Birmingham Live would stop wasting so much time on this type of content which I can read on any trashy site. But really enjoy the proper local news. More of this please and it would be a five.

Great…until the update!

I’ve been really enjoying this app for several years now as I’m not living in the local area and I can get all the Villa updates. Two weeks ago I would have given it a five star.
Since the recent update, however, the Villa news is locked on the headlines pre-update and won’t refresh. I also can’t register as literally any on-line name I choose it says I can’t have (even a random collection of numbers and letters!). This means I can’t proceed to the next page. Sort it out BM!

Don’t challenge MIrror Group Newspapers take on the news

Mirror Group news who have created this app own scores of local Newspapers. You will find that once your register to comment on you local paper, ie Birmingham Mail, you’ll be able to make comments on papers al over the country.
If you decide to make any remark contrary to the ethos of the Centre left Labour supporting company your comment will go into moderation and effectively you will be banned.
This is what will happen if Comrade Corbyn gets elected.
Strangely the app appears to let people make fascist rascist and islamaphobic comments without any action being taken.
The quality of the articles leave a lot to be desired and to be quite honest many of these reporters will never get to work on a big national daily.
Also very very random video clips are inserted into articles that actually do not appear to have any particular relevance
