Black Plaques London
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
The definitive guide to London’s dark side.
'Imagine a grown up version of Horrible Histories' The Sunday Times.
Ever felt you’re not being told the whole story? Black Plaques lift the carefully-placed rug and discover a big stain:
• Torture at Westminster Abbey
• Underwear looted from Buckingham Palace
• Putrid gas pumped up Big Ben
• Nazis in Kensington
• Murder in St Paul’s...
Retrospectively rubberneck on London’s least celebrated tales - ones that many might hope were best forgotten. With augmented reality at each site and no skimping on important details, discover where '**it happened'.
But it’s not all misery and gore. Black Plaques immortalise any episode where mankind was not enjoying its finest hour - heroic failures, lewd antics and tragic misfortunes mix with the mysterious, farcical and misguided, topped with a dollop of the downright peculiar.
Over 300 virtual plaques give a compendium of colourful vignettes - little-known to locals let alone visitors, exposing foibles and failings that DON'T get proudly mounted on a wall.
• Original content of over 75,000 words and 600 images
• Stories interconnect for armchair browsing
• Check-in on Foursquare, share on Facebook and Twitter
• Data connection needed only for map and social media
• No need to be in London to enjoy this app.

Updated story images.
This is an unique guide to London exploring the wacky, the downright weird and the surreal. Who wants boring blue plaques when you can find more entertainment following Londons cruel and dark underbelly, of gruesome corpses and Royal knicker thieves, London will never be the same again.
Well researched, great pictures and witty text, even better you don't have to visit London to use this.
Quirky, but cool
This is a quirky app, full of random, slightly off beat facts about London and its environs. I have yet to try all of the features, but am already planning to use it on a day out in London in a desperate attempt to interest my children in what has gone around them.
Great for history lovers and offers a fascinating insight into London's darker past
