Black Plaques London

The definitive guide to London’s dark side.
"Imagine a grown up version of Horrible Histories" The Sunday Times.
Ever felt you’re not being told the whole story? Black Plaques lift the carefully-placed rug and discover a big stain:
• Torture at Westminster Abbey
• Underwear looted from Buckingham Palace
• Putrid gas pumped up Big Ben
• Nazis in Kensington
• Murder in St Paul’s...
Retrospectively rubberneck on London’s least celebrated tales - ones that some might hope were best forgotten. With augmented reality at each site and no skimping on important detail, the effect can be alarmingly vivid.
But it’s not all misery and gore. Black Plaques immortalise any episode where mankind was not enjoying its finest hour - heroic failures, lewd antics and tragic misfortunes mix with the mysterious, farcical and misguided, topped with a dollop of the downright peculiar.
Over 300 virtual plaques give a compendium of colourful vignettes - little-known to locals let alone visitors, exposing foibles and failings that DON'T get proudly mounted on a wall.

Unique, adventurous and educational!
From the first glance to this app, I got carried away! I haven’t stopped taking out my iPhone to use this app every time I step out to the streets of London! This is one truly unique app I’ve ever seen and heard off. I’ve even got my family in Asia looking into this app and knowing more about where I live now. Not only it is educational, best part is you don’t even have to be on the streets to use this app! Love the quirky-ness to the stories written for each discovered stories. Love it that words like ‘Top Secret’ or an image just pops up while you’re walking down the road/streets.
You’d think standing on the quietest streets in London, looking at the most modern building across your office or even your own state of the art building, there are no stories or whatsoever behind it, no history, nothing… WRONG! BlackPlaques is here to reveal it all in the most comprehensive and interesting way possible!
Don’t see any reasons why #BlackPlaques is not trending worldwide in the coming months!
Help - crashes!
I have same problem as Drfeatherweight although he was able to fix his the same day. My app still crashes on the ipad when pressing the labels on the map, when highlighting the list in the menu at the base of app etc. I have switched iPad on and off; also tried by deleting app, rebooted by pressing wake/sleep button with home button and then re-installed but it still crashes. I have tried several times. I have IOS version 4.3 , more than IOS 4.2 that the app suggests. This looks like a nice app and am disappointed I cannot access it. If it didn't crash for me, I am sure I would have given it a higher rating. Anyone have any ideas where the problem lies?
Phew! Much better!
I originally posted a very grumpy 1 star, as I was really looking forward to this but couldn't get beyond the initial map page before it crashed. Press on a black blob on the map - crash. Try to open list category - crash. Try to open Themes, Look or even About - crash, crash and crash.
However! Hooray - I've switched my iPad off and on again and the app is there in all it's glory. Could I make a suggestion - the stories are very good, but brief - how about a link to another site with more details!
