What’s the point
Really don’t see the point of this app at all. If I want to know about something I’ll use a search engine, rather than point my phone at it. Just seems yet another way of targeting more unwanted advertising at me.
Brings English Heritage magazine to life
Was sceptical due to poor reviews, but gave it a go - worked perfectly straight away, without having to set anything up, on the English Heritage magazine symbols, allowing you to see relevant videos etc. Also worked in Explore mode, giving all sorts of suggestions about the room and items in it. Haven't set up a profile but initial reaction is "this is great".
Such a shame
When Blippar first lunch I was one of early adopters and used it on a few experiential events. However in that time rather than develop better tools to create content and applications to use them in, it has fallen by the waste side. I love the idea and it should’ve have been the defacto in mobile AR. Instead the tools aren’t intuitive, the mobile app is extremely buggy. I wouldn’t put this in front of clients. Not in its current state. It’s such a shame Blippar.
