This is ok td5 is better

I have been playing Bloons for 3 years now and got excited when I heard a new release we coming out for the franchise. I brought it for my birthday and pretty much completed most of the game in one day ( I had most of the tier three upgrades and one tier four ) my only problem with game is I prefer td5 in most ways ( but I love the new characters though they always impress) the style of td5 was simple and fun whilst the new installation keeps most of that I feel like the style is lost. The towers are great but just need a bit of tweaking and to bring back the engineers and not have them as a sort of side character making most the new “special agents”. I have no problem with this I just really like the engineer. The game is brilliant and I don’t really hate it, it’s just if it had a bit more development time it would have been perfect. The new towers (2 one buff and damaging character and one crowd control and money) are great I have use the alchemist and Druid a lot it’s just that one of the best abilities suiting a perfect class is given to the Druid even though it was perfect for the character it was on. The xp system is perfect for type of game it is and can not have a better sense of progression. The new upgrade for the old monkeys are brilliant and fit in well with what they already are. Overall it’s a great game but I would recommend bloons td5 instead.

Amazing game but..

I’m finding myself get more and more annoyed with this game, as a game it’s everything you could ask for it has amazing graphics and gameplay and is fun to play, all the new towers and powers make for a lot of stuff to discover and try. It is easily one of the best game to come out of the franchise yet and I believe it will continue to be a fan favourite for years to come. However and this is where the blame lies solely with the developers, you have done an incredible job and I don’t want to seem as though I am being negative or putting down your hard work, but why has this game been released with so little content ? I understand why people are annoyed about not having multiplayer and the lack of maps as am I, I have completed the game and have currently been waiting 2 weeks for an update that would give me more content to play but this has not happened. For such a big game with such a big fan base I’m confused why it was even released with so little content, at the very least I expected the game to have multiplayer already. But all in all the premise for this game is fantastic and I am looking forward to the future updates and releases for this game.

5 is better, microtransactions are annoying

I have been playing bloons TD since the first flash game on the PC all those years ago. The gameplay has not changed substantially. Sure, there are now a handful more towers, and three (rather than 2) paths for upgrades, hero towers. and a skill tree that provides passive buffs. But you still do essentially the same thing.

The difference is twofold: firstly, you pay for the game up front and also have the option to buy one-off use items like free towers or in-game currency. Secondly, the harder maps and modes are significantly harder, so you have a reason to use your consumables. This ruins the challenge of the harder levels: you can’t beat them without relying on these consumables (which cost time or money), but you cheapen the victory by using too many. You can try to solve the problem yourself but there’s a nagging feeling that the developers expect you to use a bunch of free towers, or powers.

Disappointing, especially given that the base game is fairly pricy for an iPhone game. The sad thing is I would gladly pay double just to have a properly balanced game without microtransactions.
