‘Broken Sword 2 – the Smoking Mirror: Remastered’ sees the return of George Stobbart and Nico Collard in the sequel to the App Store #1 smash hit ‘Broken Sword 1 – Shadow of the Templars: Director's Cut’, widely praised as the best adventure available for iPhone / iPad.
While investigating a ruthless drug gang, journalist Nico Collard unexpectedly comes across an ancient artifact. Little can she know that the ornately carved obsidian stone will lead her, and her adventuring companion George Stobbart, into a mysterious escapade of intrigue and deceit, in which they must overcome powerful forces and antagonists who will stop at nothing to fulfill their evil ambitions.
‘Broken Sword 2 - the Smoking Mirror: Remastered’ is a stunning update to the million-selling original. Along with an exclusive new interactive digital comic, from ‘Watchmen’ co-creator Dave Gibbons, the game boasts fully animated facial expressions, enhanced graphics throughout, high quality music as well as a context-sensitive hint system, and diary. Ratings and Reviews
Not nearly as good as the first one.
I really enjoyed the first Broken Sword, but this fell far from the mark for me. There is far less Nico and far too much George; it's entirely linear; and many of the puzzles are so random that I felt like I was just clicking on each thing in turn until the next bizarre thing happened. There are also some puzzles where it's clear what you're trying to achieve overall but you have to pull it off in exactly the correct order and way before the game will allow you to move on. There are so many good reviews on here that maybe it's just me, but it basically wasn't that fun, and the storyline went from incredibly slow (while you trying get through the next door or whatever) to suddenly saying something like "so I got on a plane and went halfway round the world". Just not for me...
This is the first I’ve played of this series (out of sequence I know), but I really enjoyed it and found it quite funny in places. A well thought out game that gave me hours of entertainment. It had just the right level of challenge for me, and I liked that there were hints available if needed.

Strolling down memory lane
I have followed this game from the first one in 1996 by far one of my favourite games in the whole world.
My little sister who is 11 has played the first one and loved it.
Would love one day to meet Rolf Saxon who voices George Stobbart
Hopefully there will be another broken sword soon ❤️
