BT TV customers can use the BT TV app to watch live channels and shows on demand in line with their TV subscription via smartphone, tablet and laptop wherever they are. All at no extra cost as part of your BT TV package.
How does the app work?
- All BT TV customers can use the new BT TV app for no extra cost and watch programmes inline with their TV subscription.
- Watch up to 50 live channels, including BT Sport, wherever you are.
- Catch up on the latest shows from the likes of AMC, Comedy Central, SyFy, and Discovery.
- Keep the kids entertained with amazing shows from Disney, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.
- Started watching a show on demand on your BT TV box? Pick up where you left off via the 'Continue Watching' feature.
- Watch channels and programmes on up to two devices at the same time.
- Download BT Store purchased content to watch anywhere anytime.
To get started you'll need to be a BT TV customer with a valid BT ID that's been associated to your account.
With the BT TV App Extra Subscription you also have access to these new features :-
- Download all your subscription content to watch anywhere anytime.
- Chromecast what you’re watching on the app to a big screen.
- Register the app on four devices rather than two.

Okay, but could be so much better
Updated to Version 3.0.3 yesterday. Visually very impressive. However, it runs significantly slower than the previous version. I’ve now had time to try all the features and all work fine. So in general a good app. But could be so much better if the developers incorporated into the app YouView Box Remote controllability, similar to that incorporated into the Sky TV app and other providers. I don’t know how difficult this would be but it would make life so much easier being able to control BT TV from ones Smart Phone, especially when searching Catch Up TV, it’s like sending a text message with an original mobile phone, several presses before reaching the letter you want, and heaven forbid if you type the wrong letter, you have to work out which button to press to delete it🙂. Any thoughts appreciated.

Furious paying customer!
Having been a longtime subscriber to BT, I've always enjoyed watching the sport through the BT Sport app. The new update is a massive disappointment and now I have trouble watching the sports I PAY FOR (BT- there's money coming from paying customers- are you listening?).
Instead of watching rugby I'm now spending time
a) downloading an app
b) logging in to my account (I was already logged in to the old but never mind...I'll do it again because BT have commanded me...)
c) oh, wait. I can't watch anyway because now I apparently have too many devices registered to it! 2 devices is the limit! On a train- phone. In a wi-if area- iPad. At home- computer if I can't be at TV. It used to be so convenient. And if I want to change my 2 devices? THIRTY DAYS TO CHANGE THE REGISTERED DEVICES. ARE YOU SERIOUS? Is BT really that incompetent that these can't be changed instantly- in fact why only 2 devices at all? Why should I change them when they were already registered under the old app? And we're we warned about these changes in advance so we could prepare?
And all so that I can only watch THE SAME PROGRAMME I WOULD HAVE WATCHED ON THE OLD APP IN THE SAME WAY.
I want a refund. But I bet that's not coming because that would mean considering the customers.
Hi. Thanks for your feedback. For the best experience in watching BT Sport, you should continue to use the BT Sport app as it is designed specifically to accommodate sports fans. Due to content provider restrictions, there is a limit on how many devices can be registered at once. Furthermore the content providers insist on only one change of device within 30 days. We are forced to adhere to these rules, rather than any incompetence.
First of all I buy new bt TV set up box ultra hd 4K set up box couple month ago and downloads bt tv app I unable keeping try login apps catch up watch play online I doing again again again not possible I have trying everything and contact bt tv helpline I keep telling them having problem to log in on my iPad only work on log in bt sport but not other eg films soap etc on apps I really don’t understand this old one sky no problem can log in watch catch up online but on bt tv nope really not satisfied about this they saying will sort it out but never did -
Thank to bt development had been sort it out for me now working login open bt tv app on my iPad and iPhone hope stay that why
