Download the free BT Wi-fi app to get online automatically at over 5m hotspots in the UK. BT Broadband & BT Mobile customers get FREE and unlimited BT Wi-fi access. To login to the app you will need your BT ID or your primary email address (@btinternet.com or @btconnect.com) which was sent to you in your order confirmation email. You will only need to login once and the app will automatically connect you when in range of a hotspot.

*NOTE* We are aware of issues with the devices ability to connect to hotspots. This is not within the apps control. If you’re experiencing problems with automatically connecting when in range of BT Wi-fi hotspots, please check your devices auto-join settings are turned on. Go to ‘Settings’ and select ‘Wi-Fi’. Look for a BT Wi-fi network and click on the (i) icon to the right of the network you’d like to connect to. Now select to turn ‘Auto-Join’ and ‘Auto-Login’ on. If you are still having problems, update your device software by going to General > Software Update.

Crap unfit for purpose
I have just gone to business from residential for my new business. Bt have in 3 weeks put me completely out of business

BT. It’s 2018. Hello. We are currently talking about space tourism here in Cornwall. Good luck with that. If I here BT have anything to do with the space program I will be recommending that people should not travel. Understandably.
I am a carer and work nights. I had to go out last night with no mobile or data. Puts my life at risk.
Stay Clear of BRITISH TELECOM all departments. In fact you will be lucky if you can understand anything cuz most of them can’t speak English clearly.
Wi-fi Fon and the app the worst thing I have ever had the misfortune of signing up to
BT Wi-fi Fon do yourselves a favour and never use or get involved with it. Signed up for 12 months and it is the most infuriating inept product I have unfortunately ever had the misfortune to use. I signed up for unlimited 12 months a decision I regret hugely as someone that relies on a decent internet for work. It forever cuts out meaning you have to go through the tedious useless process of signing back in again each time, doesn’t work regularly and is incredibly slow when it does. Incredibly frustrating to use. I got the app as it said will ‘automatically sign my phone in’. It NEVER works. I can honestly say using BT both app and Wi-fi Fon are the most stressful and frustrating things in my life. Avoid at all costs.

I have to say that this has got to be amongst the worst and most useless apps I have.. Ok I'm not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to IT, I accept that, BUT, for example when it says go to location services (which I can) turn it on (which I cant because the relevant sub menu does not include that function). When you consider both these instructions are on the same web page?
I have never actually found BT to be that good and the fool that I am has had an automatic subscription renewal enabled for years and never actually managed to get on line. Next task is to cancel automatic renewal go to competitor service provider and sign up.
If I could leave 0 stars I would, but I am obliged to leave at least 1 - which I have done, reluctantly.
