Over 40 million people have signed up for Bumble to start building valuable relationships, finding friends, and making empowered connections.

Creating new connections has never been easier. Bumble is working to lift the stigma of online dating by employing unprecedented standards for respectful behaviour. Because of this relentless dedication, millions of people are using Bumble to build valuable relationships every single day.

Bumble is at the forefront of matchmaking technology by providing an app that allows users to foster more than just romantic connections. The industry-leading app empowers users to swipe through potential connections across three different modes:

Bumble Date: On Bumble Date, women make the first move. We’ve changed the archaic rules of the dating game so that you can form meaningful relationships in a respectful way.
Bumble BFF: Life is better with friends. Whether you’re new to a city or looking to expand your circle, Bumble BFF is the easiest way to make new friends.
Bumble Bizz: Now we’re in business. Use Bumble Bizz to network, find mentors, and create new career opportunities.

Bumble is the first app of its kind to bring dating, friend-finding, and career-building into a single social networking platform.

At Bumble, women make the first move. In heterosexual matches, the woman has 24 hours to make the first move and the man has 24 hours to respond. In same-sex matches, either person has 24 hours to make the first move, while the other individual has 24 hours to respond, or else, the connection expires. By prompting our users to be bold and make the first move we’ve seen over 3 billion messages sent to date.

Writing this review in defence of Bumble as there seem to be lots of negative reviews lately and I can’t understand why!

I have been using this app for several months. I’m a 45yr old male living about 40m north of London. Admittedly, I get bucketloads more matches when I’m in London than I do elsewhere but this is down to the population.

However the suggestion that there are fake profiles I find difficult to swallow. I have matched with several women, some of whom I might previously have thought were “out of my league” given that I’m cracking on a bit, and yes, there are a few who match and don’t speak as per other apps, but by and large they do. I have probably had a dozen dates from the app and it’s been excellent fun. It’s frustrating when people don’t respond, yes, but I think that’s more to do with how people seem to sometimes behave these days than an app issue.

Anyway, highly recommended from my perspective, although a couple of tweets would be welcome, namely:

A) ability to, as with Hinge, select your location rather than it being pure GPS based. I’m in London frequently for example and I get matches, but then when I open the app when I’m home, location updates and I cease to get matches even though London would be my preferred location

B) it’s not clear how Boost works for me. Really I’d like an better value way to let someone know I’m interested, similar to Tinders five super swipes a day option. Personally I think the coins are too expensive.

Hey Matt, thank you so much for your lovely feedback! We're so happy to have you in the Hive. Thank you for your suggestions, we'll ensure that this is passed on to the relevant team. We really value our users feedback to make Bumble the best it can be.

Viewing profiles worse than before

UPDATE: New UI experience still worse than before 🙈 Bumble please revert back to the previous profile / match view - It used to work so well. E.g. Tapping on a pic allowed you to zoom the pic freely (now you have to pinch AND hold to zoom.) Can no longer scroll between all pics once tapped on (now you have to exit pic, scroll to next then tap on it.) Who in your UX / UI team thinks making it harder to view someone's profile pics is an improvement? Is it based on user testing / feedback? If so, fair enough but find that hard to believe.

Original review: You've removed crucial functionality such as being able to view individual pics full size and the ability to zoom on each pic (quality of some pics isn't great so this is essential!) If you're releasing updates, please ensure the functionality of the previous version is in place as a minimum, and enhance. This is a great App that was super easy to use but this is a big step backwards! Looking forward to seeing this changed back ASAP! 🙏🏼 Thanks guys! 👍🏼
