Having tried it from never running. Last time at school some 25 years ago I did find the expectation of "run for 60 seconds" very disheartening. So pausing the app hit the gym to build up from 30 second jogs mixed with 30 second walking briskly for a couple of times a week for 2 weeks. I'm now at the point of actually doing the app and feeling accomplished when I finish a workout. It'd be good if there was a setting to adjust the initial running from say 30 seconds up for the real unfit like myself. Not a major criticism just my initial impressions of using it.
I love it now and bought the pro version and pay the premium.
Give it a go doing something is better than nothing. Just don't expect to run from the start. Take it easy and repeat weeks if you have to. I had lost weight going to the gym and dieting but hit a brick wall nothing I did could budge any more. Jogging with this has kick started it again and I'm absolutely over the moon I'm going to be able to do a parkrun with my fiancée soon.
Working for me
As a couch potato who has never run I was sceptical that an app could help me. However I am at the end of week 4 and absolutely loving it. Yes it's hard but the intervals of walking make it achievable. Only negative for me is that the instructions could be louder as occasionally I don't hear them over the music.
Did the job!
I'm 37 and have never been a runner. I've tried various exercise apps and never stuck at them in the past. I love this app! The first few weeks were hard work; I'm just entering week 8 now and really enjoying every run! Thanks for getting me active!
