Scores and Results are a Mess
If you want to spend hours configuring the app with your favourite players and details about your visits to Wimbledon then, apparently from other reviews, the updated app is great. If you want to find out latest scores or results, it's a complete hassle. In previous years I've had no trouble keeping up with all the scores on different courts point-by-point with the app - this year, however, it is over-engineered to the point of being useless. Looking at "Results" at the end of the day on Wednesday, when almost all play was completed, all I could see was two ladies singles matches - nothing else. Live scores had the same problem during the day when only some of the matches were displayed and even those did not keep up to dates with points and wouldn't refresh. I ended up using google on my phone to keep up with the scores because the app was so useless. This year's app has more bells and whistles, less basic functionality, it's overdesigned and unfit for purpose.
Leading the way, again!
Much improved over last year. And my complaint from previous year - to all slams re their apps - has been addressed. Namely; being able to select a player from the match links and link to their bio, and (more importantly in my mind), being able to view offline content. A huge step forward!
I'm not a fan of the windows phone style pane layout of the menu screen - it's just plain boring. But I'm not a Windows fan anyway. Notifications work to keep you up to date re your highlighted favourite players.
Well done Wimbledon!!
Smashing coverage and interactivity
This app has been a godsend this year. I've managed to keep up-to-date with all the goings on and learn lots more about all the players and the Championships as a whole. It's great as a home-spectator and when attending in person. My only request is please stop the screen jumping back to the top after I have clicked onto a player's profile from within the order of play. Other than that, excellent.
