The Change4Life drinks tracker app is a great, free way to keep an eye on your drinking.

Many of us like to unwind with a nice glass of something. But it’s funny how drink sneaks up on us. The odd glass in the evening can quickly become two or three regular glasses, most evenings.

The Change4Life app helps you keep track of your drinking - showing you when you’re putting your health at risk and giving you tips to help you cut down.

Download the drinks tracker app today and use it to:

• Track your drinks each day
• Use the graph view to spot when you’re overdoing it
• Learn more about the risks
• Get daily tips and feedback
• Personalise your drinks and add daily notes

Needs a rethink

As someone looking for a way of monitoring and reviewing my drinking habits a department of health app seemed ideal BUT like most DOH initiatives it seems to be driven by patronising and childish drivers! Even if you are drinking within guidelines you still get a warning triangle! What about some positive reinforcement? A "well done" or a review of the weekly drinking limits with a comment to say "within guidance well done".
If I was someone drinking too much and wanting to try something to help I would feel patronised and disincentivised by this programme. The interface is very childish! Is that because you are attempting to cater to young drinkers? If so then I think you have missed your market, similarly if your target audience is adults reviewing drink patterns then it needs changing. Please think again! I'm off to try another app!

Pretty much useless

This would be a great app but as with all these unit calculators there has not been enough research or thought put into it. The problem is the people that have made this app are under the impression that all whisky is 40% abv but an awful lot is 43% or 46% and there isn't even an option for these strengths. The thing is though that whisky can be anything from 40% to about 61%, I have several bottles in the 50's, so even a more comprehensive list of strengths wouldn't be any good. This app should have the feature of being able to input any figure to one decimal place, without that this app isn't any help to strong spirit drinkers.

Excellent potential but needs attention

I've used this App for nearly a year and it has dramatically helped me halve my drinking. A problem sometimes occurs at the month end where data can be temporarily doubled and a whole month goes missing.
A worse recent problem is that the app takes ages to open and the graphs no longer display - possibly due to the 12 months of accumulated data? Please fix.
