What’s the point?

What I don’t understand is if you’re holding a tin of beans to scan the bar code, you’re also an eye flick away from looking at the nutritional information on the tin, next to the bar code. So what’s the point of this app?

Can’t get this app to work

Downloaded onto my iPhone SE. Held over barcodes and the app did nothing- wouldn’t focus on the barcodes and no button to click in order for the app to do anything?
