Ratings and Reviews
We are members of Chester zoo and go regularly. My 5 year old daughter loves this app and checking off the animals when she has seen them.
However, the map needs updating. As the zoo has various areas undergoing improvement. For example, the penguins have now opened again but are not back on the map. Additionally sometimes we can see the animal badge but cannot find the animal on the zoo map in order to add it to the collection.
We love Chester zoo and this app adds an extra interest and information.
Useful, nicely design but a bit temperamental
I visit the zoo regularly and like the app but am sometimes frustrated by its inability to load or refresh pages/data. This may actually be the zoo's wi-fi provision though, not the app itself. Also feel it should have more news, taken directly from Z magazine articles? I'm also frustrated by the search function, which is very literal (e.g. will only find Andean Bear not Spectacled Bear, won't find Sun Bear), and won't locate animals you do find on the map to help you see them.
The information about the animals is great if you have a favourite or want to read a bit more about them after you've been. It'd be good to have something for all the animals but I'm guessing it's difficult to keep up to date with all the improvements the do at the zoo. It's right on my doorstep and it's amazing just to wander around and look at them all
