What's New in Version 1.1.9
The latest version of the Cineworld Cinemas app introduces several enhancements and bug fixes, including better handling of Unlimited accounts.
Come on Cineworld!
Great, so you create a new app, but you can't even sign in via Facebook on this one so I cannot use it to book tickets. It's not that complicated to do that, did you really want to release a replacement that didn't allow that? It must affect a good proportion of your user base. Come on guys, you can do it, the decision maker who said 'release without FB login made an error of judgement here - surely you wanted to start with a new set of ratings and good feedback.
I promise I will change when you sort this. I would have been in real bother for having made this decision at my work.
Otherwise the app has a slightly better UX but nothing spectacular and ultimately because I want to use this for booking it's no good to me at the moment. Sorry guys, don't like to leave bad feedback I'm just hoping it spurs you on to add this back in asap.
Still Needs Improving
I'm a Cineworld Unlimited holder so obviously make massive use of their app to look at cinema times and book films in advance with it.
In terms of doing those things, the app is absolutely brilliant for it however it does just direct you to the website once you start the booking process so there's not much of an app there.
In the latest update, they also argue that there's 'better management for Unlimited users' for their accounts however when tapping on the Unlimited tab all it does is advertise joining Unlimited instead of giving you the option to manage your account. Also, when you go on the 'My Account' section you only get the option to view your name, where you live and that's really about it.
For now, stick to the website. Hopefully in the next update we'll actually see improvements to Unlimited members managing their accounts and will see more of an app and less redirecting to the website.
THEY DONY LISTEN TO US
It says passbook support (by the way cineworld it's wallet now) but that's only if you go into your emails and add the ticket. You use to be able to do it from the app. Not sure how this improves upon the old app. It's a bit of an app and the rest opens in a web window. I don't understand why they don't make a proper app, the process could be so much quicker. Once you have my card saved I should press a film, press a time, and press book, you show a box saying add to wallet and it's done. 4 clicks! Smooth! Simple! Nice! Makes me want to use it. Makes me want to keep my cineworld subscription.
