- Use separate lists to organise every aspect of your life.
- iCloud sync built-in so you can be productive everywhere.
- Set reminders so you’ll never forget important tasks.
- Personalise your Clear lists with themes and make them your own.
- Syncs with Clear for iOS (available separately on the App Store).
Clear is built by a small team, dedicated to bringing you frequent free feature updates. We’d love to know how we can make you even more productive, so get in touch via the App Store “Support” link, or tweet us @UseClear.
What's New in Version 1.1.7
Thanks for using Clear! Just two small enhancements in today’s update:
- We’ve tweaked (increased) the delay before “Click to Clear” appears.
- We’ve ensured compatibility with OS X El Capitan.

Sync with iCloud Drive only - UPDATE (and not a good one)
Please be aware that OSX & iOS will only sync via iCloud Drive.
If you have any older devices that will not operate on iOS 8, you will not be able to sync automatically.
Unfortunately, I still have an iPhone 4 and consequently the desktop version of Clear has been a waste of money for me.
It is possible to backup a library and restore it to another devive but this isn’t a great or particularly convenient option. I exchanged several e-mails last year with Realmac about the possibility of sync via Dropbox or similar and was told that this was not an option they were prepared to consider.
Unfortunately, spending upwrads of £400 to upgrade my phone isn’t really a practical option so the otherwise excellent Clear remains unused on my desktop Macs.
UPDATE: newset version with ios 9 NOW BREAKS THE LIMITED SYNC THAT I HAD WITH iCloud AND CONTINUES TRYING TO FORCE ME TO iCLOUD DRIVE _ VERY ANNOYED, FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED AS I SACRIFICED DESKTOP SYNC TO KEEP MY IPAD AND IPHONE IN SYNC NOW I CAN"T EVEN DO THAT
iPhone update seems to now cause sync FAILIURE!
I found ‘Clear’ very handy when it did sync from both Mac to iOS and visa versa, I gave it a five star rating then-which I’ll now drop to a two because its failing to sync from iOS to Mac. It still syncs between both iPads &iPhone6, and oddly-FROM Mac to iOS, but fails to go from devices to Mac-semi defeating the object of having it on Mac! I/we now use notes instead; can’t quick gesture wipe items off the list, but you can tick things instead, and notes are far more reliable-both ways on sync!
iCloud Disabled - *always*
I like this app on my phone, but the OSX version is rubbish - terrible in fact. It is *never* updated, and has a bug that means your lists don’t sync properly with iCloud. The iOS versions don’t have any problems, but the OSX version - never works, as in *NEVER*. I might try and kill the app and redownload it - but to be honest the lack of support makes me think they actually don’t really care, and have either ded a death as a company, or moved onto other projects and don’t care about this one.
If you have to pay for this (I can’t recall) I’d save my money to be honest….
