Be great when it's finished

For the cost of this program and the Collins name you would expect more but it lacks a lot. Illustrations and database search is great, but the writers seem to want to make more out of the in app purchases which is real sad when you have paid a lot of money for it. The side that lets it down is the record listing. It is just so poor it hard to describe its like writing records in a book rather than a modern medium. The listing display is so poor I like to view my records after I have written them but this display is bad. Is should display them on a separate page but has like a little note page rubbish I'm afraid. I brought this as my present bird app doesn't cover out of UK though I have been using it for France records. But this app gives great records search and display that's it. Your paying 13 quid just for that really, the rest of the program is poor. If your happy like me to pay an over inflated price for the information carry on. But it's not a value for money deal. Sad really you would expect more. This is even no iCloud back up, in this day and age the norm really. Look at ispiney products for that much better value for money.

Bottom line great information but needs to be fully finished and it just doesn't feel like it is.

Great app, but can we get a backup feature?

Changed my rating from 5 back to 4, as I would like to see a backup feature. At the moment, if I lost my phone, my records would be gone and I couldn't restore them. This has happened to me previously and is very frustrating. Other than that, this is a great app which makes it incredibly easy to identify birds. I use this across Europe and it always comes in handy. A great feature is the ability to compare birds to similar species which the app will pick out for you. I'm sure this has helped me avoid a good number of misidentifications! Bird song recordings are also great, and if you pay the extra few pounds for the more detailed UK map, it's well worth it. The illustrations are superb and cannot be faulted and the text descriptions are detailed and well thought out. Since the recent update which allows you to add the exact location of your sighting and map this, along with noting time, date and other observations, I would say this app is now very nearly the full package! Keep twitching!

Perfect now!

I would say this is now the perfect app as far as I am concerned! I use this across Europe and it always comes in handy. A great feature is the ability to compare birds to similar species which the app will pick out for you. I'm sure this has helped me avoid a number of misidentifications! The birdsong recordings are also great, and if you pay the extra few quid for the more detailed UK map, it's well worth it. The illustrations are great and cannot be faulted and the text descriptions are very detailed and well thought out. Now that you can add the time, date and location of your sightings, this app really is the full package. It also syncs across all devices, meaning that the data you input won't be lost. Spot on!
