Ratings and Reviews
Amazing but absurdly overpriced
Coming from a person who played Cytus 1, I love everything this game adds to the original one from the new swipes to new design. For £2, you get a solid game but SRSLY? Only a couple of songs?? The original one had way more for free! To be fair, this is a fairly new game but still, the original had more when it first came out. To make things worse, each character expansion costs £10! By the time of writing this, all expansion packs cost ~£85, which is a complete rip off hence rating this game 3 stars. You're much better off getting the original one which is very similar yet really good. If you're a beginner, sure why not (should try Cytus 1 too imo) but unless if they slash the prices to around £2-£4, those who are going to play a lot should be expected to invest a lot for new content. Don't get me wrong, this is an AMAZING game and those who want to try it should get it, but unless if they start slashing prices and/or releasing good FREE content regularly, I'm holding off a 5 star rating.
I've had Cytus for over a year now and finally purchased Cytus II to see if it was any good. Overall, the app does not disappoint! It works smoothly and the graphics are amazing. The levels are slightly more challenging with the addition of new notes.
However, there is NOT enough content at all! For £1.99, I'd expect more free songs. The first Cytus has 130 free songs to play, for the same price. If you're thinking of buying one of these games, I'd definitely buy the first Cytus! You have much more to play. Cytus II only has 54 free songs for comparison. To buy more, it'll cost you £4.99 or even £9.99 a song pack! A bit of a ripoff if you ask me.
The game is new though, so hopefully more songs will be added in future updates.
On the whole, a great game. I'd definitely recommend the first version of Cytus though.
Amazing game but...
I absolutely loved the first game and this game is just as good with the new mechanics just give it extra life into the rhythm genre of games. Very responsive and a great soundtrack a very interesting way of story telling. I love it.
My one grip is just how expensive the other characters are and for the amount of the content you’re getting £9.99 is just way too much. I would be willing to spend that much if I bought it once and all the new characters became playable but the fact that EACH character is that much extra I sadly won’t be spending any money on the DLCs which is such a shame.
I hope they do go down in price and I would love to buy them but it’s crazy to think that I would be spending £1.99 on the initial game then £50 on the other characters.
