Prepare yourself for the ultimate sci-fi adventure by entering the hilarious and sizzling world of The Baconing created by Hothead Games.
You are DeathSpank, a hero and the ultimate Dispenser of Justice. You must defeat the Anti-Spank and his army of Cyborques, before they cast an evil shadow over Spanktopia.
Unaware of the myth of The Baconing, the hero DeathSpank, on a boring day in Spanktopia, decided to try on all of the thong undergarments at once. Much to his surprise, the result had nothing to do with chafing or wedgies, but rather the summoning of an evil incarnation of himself, the AntiSpank.
Balance can only be restored to the world by entering the Fires of Bacon and destroying five of the thongs. Now, DeathSpank travels the lands to find a sizzling solution to vanquish the AntiSpank and bring about peace once again to Spanktopia.
Roesha - One Bad Mutha, a 70's police officer-inspired co-op character is bundled in this update for FREE!

A little too political
I thoroughly enjoyed the first DeathSpank, which was silly good-natured fun. Good combat, a strong humour and generally highly enjoyable.
The second was a bit deeper, still jolly good, but suffered from some things I'd rather not have had to do and one truly epic cop-out which I won't spoil for you.
This, I'm a way into and… not actually enjoying very much. This is because the quests have stopped being fun and are now things I'm doing purely because the game asks it.
Do I, for example, want to help a character called 'Corrupt Mayor' stuff ballot boxes? No I do not. But I have to because it's a major quest. Do I want to help a rude Princess destroy the property of a rival? Nope. Same story. And I just encountered a bug that makes one quest impossible to complete. Oh joy.
This game seems to be testing what I will do to get through the game. I would be fine with that if there was a serious option [that is, other ways of completing Quests than doing specifically what is asked].. but there isn't. I either carry out tasts that make me, as a player, very uncomfortable, or I don't get to progress.
in brief, if you're going to make a game political, give me a choice. Make it a personal statement. Don't make me a tool of the selfish, the vapid and the corrupt. This game is currently souring the series and making me think very hard whether I should buy the next one.
This is the first Deathspank game that I have played and I am very impressed! Funny dialogues and not to difficult gameplay (I play the downtrodden level :)) make it quite enjoyable even on a rather moderate comp as mine (macbook 5.1, 2008 model).
I read somewhere that the gameplay is just around 8 hours.. Well, it'd be nice if we can get DLCs (for SL users also please!) or some kinda arcade mode..
But, its not too expensive either. Good one Hothead!
A Dungeon Crawler Dripping with Wit.
Very rarely does a game have this much character, it's a lovely little gem reminicent of the old Diablo "click a thousand times to clear a room" dungeon crawler. Although it doen't offer the same depth of character customisation or skills as other games in the same genre, it's a very easy game to pick up and lose countless hours with.
My only regret is not getting into this series sooner.
