If it ain't broke don't fix it


I was really quite happy with Demand5 but this app definitely is a step backwards.

1. It does not react well. I ask it to search for a program or click on a series to find an episode and it just will not do it. I have to completely close the app and try again.
2. It struggles to switch from portrait to landscape sometimes.
3. It also crashes a lot & I hear audio but see no pictures.
4. It tells me a program is available but when I try and watch it it tells me this program is unavailable. The main example of this was Secrets of Great British Castles. Happened to find this on there, enjoyed the three episodes available now it says that they have made more episodes of the series available. Click on it to watch it and a pop-up says 'whoops this program is unavailable.' What is going on?

I’ve edited this review because it’s only got more annoying. Last time I said I’d not sen an update, this is now been updated multiple times & still doesn’t seem to work. Another issue’s now cropped up as well which is that a program (& it’s adverts) keep pausing themselves. You can press play & it will pause itself again almost immediately.

Please sort this out channel 5! Thank you.



I’ve never written an app review before but I felt compelled for this to be my very first, simply because for a channel as weighty as 5 to have an app this unusable really is a crime in itself. I read the reviews but thought hey, with this many bad reviews they must have fixed those bugs by now right? Wrong. There appears to be a cockroach infestation at the demand 5 offices that will ne’er be quelled by no mans. To not even make it out of the gate and past the (what feels like a literal billion) ads before we’re treated to immediate screen blackouts and sound dips galore, is frankly inexcusable. I don’t know where your ample advertising money is going but it’s clearly not being fed back into this app. Sort it out please powers that be. Yours sincerely, a begrudging one star.
