Use DOFMaster to calculate the depth of field in your photographs. You'll be able to select the lens and f/stop combination that provides the zone of sharpness you need. Use it to calculate the hyperfocal distance for landscape photography.
DOFMaster calculates total depth of field, near focus limit, far focus limit, and hyperfocal distance.
Depth of field can be calculated for any film or digital camera. Select a pre-set format (e.g., Canon DSLR, 35mm film, compact digital, Super 16, etc.) or a custom circle of confusion.
F-stops range from f/1 to f/64, with 1/3, 1/2, and full stops. Focal lengths range from 3mm to 1200mm. Use feet, meters, inches, or centimeters for input and output.
What's New in Version 1.0.1
-Updated cameras in format list
-Added 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, and 2/3 inch sensors to format list
DOFMaster - the easiest way to calculate Hyperfocal Distance
Easy to use, instant results. Just enter the parameters and set the hyperfocal distance calculated by the app on the distance scale on your lens (or estimate your focus to that distance if you don't have one). You then can achieve maximum depth of field in your landscape photography. This app makes this simple - just remember to take your ipod with you when out taking photos! Well worth £1.19 and makes the ipod touch a valuable toolkit for the landscape photographer.
As many lenses stopped putting depth of field markings on them, and also many cameras no longer show you the depth of field, this handy app is a life (or picture) saver. The info is available from other sources, so nothing special about this. However, it is easy to use, no need to be scrolling through websites or carrying pieces of paper with the info. It covers different cameras and lenses. It only does one thing, but it does it well. Just what I needed.
Ignore the idiot Shakesville who has written the review under this one you could take his advice but then you wouldn't have a go anywhere app would you? If you follow his advice your reliant on mobile reception and all for the sake of £1.19. Plus you have to wait for the server to do its stuff, and remember on location this might to be over 3G
Simple to use and does what it is designed to do ACCURATELY what more can you ask?
