Loved this game on the Amiga several years back and I was excited to see it for the iPhone. Unfortunately, whilst the graphics have been captured perfectly, the gameplay is awkward and frustrating, particularly for those of used to using a joystick. The display is too small to benefit from touch-screen controls - attempting to use "down/fire" results in changing the power-up pencil unintentionally; the controls are slow to respond also - Doodlebug usually dies before he even has the chance to attack the baddies! The actual game and music are perfect replicas, a great blast from the blast, just a shame that the control pad chosen makes it unenjoyable and difficult to play the game to its fullest extent. 3*
You can change the controls in game to suit one thumb or standard two thumb joystick and button type gameplay. Thought it was great myself! A+++++
Small but well formed
Better on the iPad though!
