A bit clunky but the best I have found

phild_onion

I downloaded to keep track of my drinking as I was trying to cut down a bit. I mostly like the interface and the features, but find the focus on the 14 units a week a bit judgy, I want to be aware of what I’m drinking and then set my own goals with a little guidance. In terms of tracking actual units consumed, it’s limited and I often find myself having to guesstimate, which is a shame, would be great for it to be accurate. Overall, it’s the best of the few I tried, if one of the fitness and nutrition apps had a feature to filter and look just at alcohol, then this one would go pretty quickly.

Doesn’t do what it should

This is in theory a great app. Good design and has all the features you expect - except one important feature and that’s adding custom drinks. You are limited to basic brands of beers, their ABV and limited quantities. No craft beers are listed. Had a 3.9% local ale? Can’t log it. Homebrew? Can’t log it. The app is too focused on capturing brands that it fails to do the one important thing it should do well and that is count your alcohol units. In my opinion they should do away with brands (unless the data is a revenue stream) but instead let you choose two things when adding a drink: quantity, and ABV

Poor app, frequently malfunctions

Nickhowells

Poor app, frequently malfunctions, I’ve been using it for a couple of years now and it’s never been great. Often fails at the most basic of tasks, I.e. adding a drink. Now in the newest version, it deletes that line when adding plus or minus of the drink. I.e. add one small glass of white wine with the plus symbol, it deletes it. Also, I agree with other comments about it big brand beers / lagers / ciders only, a limited range of high street drinks only, no Czech pilsners, no interesting craft ales and no ability to add a banging strong 6.9% IPA or a nice Keep it Session 3.8% Pale Ale. I tend to use other brands to substitute, I.e. Punk IPA becomes Bishops Finger.
