Bit of a scare, but back to normal!
Brilliant little title, with immense replay value and some great additional content added through the last updates.
After the first title update the difficulty was reduced to the point where the game could be complete in one run. Thankfully, this has been fixed and the game is back to its usual self. It is slightly less punishing than it was when it was first released, but the game still retains its brutal difficulty, especially when you reach beyond level 20 and new enemies begin to appear. This is a good thing, as the game makes you work hard to unlock and upgrade your characters, in order to travel deeper into the dungeon.
The new additions to the game mix things up and allow for a much more varied experience.
Status effects to combat, such as poison, weapons to find, magic scrolls, armour etc. enemies with ranged attacks and traps to avoid. Boss enemies, which boost surrounding enemies' attack strength. Enemies that are immune to magic. Missions to carry out during gameplay and I'm only scratching the surface here.
This game is superb!
Nice idea but not there yet
I like the idea - a dungeon crawler with just 30 locations per level fits well on the ipad. However, Dungelot needs to be better play tested. On my fourth game I selected a vampire with maxed out blood drain and reached level 140. After level 50 it was starting to get dull - every level plays about the same. I had no real strategy before level 75. Each game takes hours to play. It can be fun to play long games that tell an epic story but this felt more like a waste of time.
So, wow, this game looks like a real pile of... hey hang on... actually that's not half bad... wait, wait, hang on just one more go... hey... HEY... who stole my evening ? *sigh* Suppose I should go to bed now then... oh, maybe just *one* more go...
