Gloucester, UK, under water?
This isn't so much a review, but more a question. If the App Support link offered the option of submitting feedback, I've have used that. Hopefully, this will make it back to the developers.
Why is much of Gloucester, UK, shown as being under water? Open Street Map itself doesn't show it this way. I know the city has a history of being flooded, but it's currently dry!
Oh, and this is with the elevation display turned off. With it turned on, the use of blue for low-lying land gives the impression that even more ground is under water.
Ok, a quick review then. Other than these two issues, I think this is a fantastic app and I'm amazed it's free. Fix these and it'll be even better.
Wow! There is a lot of map there for the total cost of FREE but it isn't the finished product. Great swathes of the UK are under water & whilst it looks like low lying East Anglia is spared Wales west of Swansea & Chester are doomed as well as the whole of the Lake District! Looked at northern Italy & that's under water in parts as well. That said it is still usable, especially for towns & cities, but be aware that it relies on Openstreet map which means anyone can go on line & change what ever they want by error or design so don't rely on it 100% & know its limitations. Personally it will be used as a rough guide & I'll be relying on something paid for more accuracy.
If the developer gets the mop out & removes the excess water then I'll review again & it will be 5 stars.
Worth 50 stars
Staggeringly useful app. Been travelling around the Balkans and within seconds it tells me exactly where I am and which way I'm facing, whether up a mountain or in the middle of a busy city road network. If you have an gps-enabled iPhone with 1.5 Gb of space left (and the sense to occasionally turn the elevation model off when it suggests you're underwater) this is pretty much a must-have app.
