The Eurovision Song Contest has never been closer with the official app!
Watching the Eurovision Song Contest has never been more exciting before, during and after the event, with the official app right in front of you. As you watch the spectacle unfold on television, this app will introduce you to the participating artists, the lyrics of the songs for you to sing along, information about each country and, of course, the results!
Along with each country's professional jury, it is up to you to decide on the outcome of the 61th Eurovision Song Contest. Voting (local rates apply) has never been easier right from the app. After you cast your vote, a special message from your favourite artist is waiting for you! This, and much more, all comes with this ultimate virtual companion.
The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Stockholm on 10, 12 and 14 May. A total of 43 countries will take part, and only one can win! With nearly 200 million people tuning in every year, the Eurovision Song Contest is Europe’s favourite TV show and the world’s most watched non-sporting event. The Contest has been broadcast every year since 1956, which makes it one of the longest-running television programmes in the world.

Optimizations for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016
Can't be used for voting - despite the misleading description
Given that the description of the app said "Voting has never been easier right from the app". In fact you need to use a device with a SIM card (even with an iPad) and you then have to use a phone to make a chargeable telephone call. Voting should be IP-based; requiring a telephone call is unnecessarily archaic and backward. What if the user has no GSM signal (but has perfect wifi) or is using a SIM card from another country (e.g. roaming which will soon be at domestic rates within the EU)? Please sort this out before next year.
I used this during Eurovision and was really impressed. It worked all the way through no download issues, or incorrect information. Also allowed me to remember my favs and call the number direct from the phone. I never do reviews but this time I have to as it worked as it should.
Confusing to use - live updates did not work
I found this app confusing to use. But most annoying was the public live votes did not come in until all results read out. I used this whilst listening to the radio. Annoying that couldn't watch the live events coming in, as the App says it does. Please fix for next year.
