Great way to repair my credit rating
I’ve got a Clear Score account which tells me how good or bad my credit score is doing. Over the last 2 years I’ve done what I can and never missed any payments on my phone or utilities and gradually my score crept up and up despite being in an IVA with debts of over £43,000. To help my score I was advised to get a credit card by Clear Score and so Vanquis was recommended. My first credit card in almost 5 years.
I was accepted with a limit of £1000 which is great considering I’m on a IVA and not working due to being medically retired at just 42 and living off benefits. Vanquis accepted me first time, without any hassle. I didn’t have to lie and say I was working or earning x amount per month. I was truthful when I was phoned to go through the application.
A bit of advice if your in the same boat, do everything you can to make any payments on time all the time. Always be truthful and if for some reason you can’t make a payment, then get in touch with the company concerned and explain it. I was guilty of ignoring letters and phone calls in the past, but now I know correspondence is the key. Don’t ignore them and speak to each lender whenever your in trouble. Then in time it will improve. Companies like Vanquis give you that second chance.
I can’t fault Vanquis at all.
I downloaded the new vanquis app a few months ago . Since then I’ve found it very easy to use on my I phone . It uses fingerprint technology, so no more sticking in PIN numbers . Plus no one can see your PIN number as well . You just put your finger in the phone and hey presto your in . Once your in you immediately see your balance and available credit . Payments are easy to . Just tap the payment button at the bottom of the screen enter the amount and as long as your card details are on record it all happens with the press of a button. Viewing previous statements is also just as easy . All in all it’s the most user friendly credit card app around in my opinion . I have a few other credit cards who also use mobile apps that are not that user friendly. Well done vanquis!! Your interest rate maybe high but your mobile app is fantastic.

Since having the account with Vanquis I have been really pleased to have already seen an improvement in my credit score, as well as it coming in extremely handy when I lost my debit card recently and had to wait for a new one to arrive.
Having the Vanquis card to hand meant I could continue to shop and pay for things like my children’s school trips, without the dreaded interruption that comes from not having a debit bank card available.
Setting up the online account was easy and allows me to make repayments to my balance and check my stats whenever I want to, meaning I can keep on top of my finances 24/7.
Really recommend using this service if you are looking to boost your credit score!
