Pointless rubbish

Absolutely pointless rubbish! Faster? You cannot be serious: it's a separate are App. I hate it.

I hate that it jumps between windows/apps.

I hate that I can't chose to view my messages within Facebook anymore.

This does what Whatapp already does better. I've got Whatapp. I want my Facebook messages to remain in Facebook.

I have sent less messages since this separate App was introduced. In fact, I have increased my usage of other Apps inc text messaging just to avoid the slow / disjointed / weird new approach of Facebook.

To summarise this App the only word I can come up with is dysfunctional! Severely dysfunctional.

Think of it like this: Facebook just divorced itself from Facebook messaging and to visit the messaging I need to move house to do so because it doesn't live with Facebook since it's divorce!

Guys - please revert before my interest wanes entirely. It's coming close to that now. Facebook as a whole has just become tacky and crappy

Seriously - a separate messaging service? In a world where integration is key; you've just disintegrated something that worked (albeit slightly strangely and inadequately) and made it look like a High School App from a junior computer science fair.

Why why why

I didn't want this app. I just got it to see if that annoying nag screen would disappear in FB if I downloaded it and just didn't use it. Bad and good news. Bad is it now switches to the new app out of FB if you open messages. Good is on my other iPhone, the app isn't installed and the nag screen appears to have disappeared.
Sadly, it seems we are being forced to use this app soon as the main FB app will drop it. So I'm forced to write this review.
As someone said before me, an annoying black screen comes up if notifications aren't allowed. Maybe someone will make a tweak for this.
This app did alert me to a disturbing fact. Unless you change your privacy in FB an if you have your mobile number on your FB account, anyone can randomly put your number into their phonebook and see who it belongs to on Facebook. I urge you to change this setting yourselves.

Edit: I also notice I'm getting asked to send my friends a link to install it as well. Why would I spam my friends with a link to something I don't even want for myself?? If anything, I'll send them links for iPhones so we can all iMessage and avoid this FB crap

It's only 1 star...

...because I can't rate a 0. Echoing many many others, thought I would finally cave in, very very reluctantly, after ignoring the constant pokes to download this app, but after the email about the messaging feature being removed (for whatever insane reason) from the main app, I thought I would try it. After 5 mins, it was deleted. Im on the same page as virtually all the other reviews. I don't want another separate app for my Facebook messages. I don't want notifications on, I want my messages private while at work. I don't want it syncing with my phone and it's contacts. There are people I DONT want to contact through Facebook, and vice versa. And more. Lots of reasons why not, but not a single reason to use this app. I would rather just stop using Facebook for messaging, and from now on I will do just that.
