Customer Reviews

Freezes constantly

Thanks for updating Facebook. In order to keep you rating low, I will have to keep submitting my review every two weeks. To switch on automatic reviews don't update the app. My review will then remain, along with your ratings, which conveniently are reset every two weeks.

The app really is rubbish now. It is slow to load (far slower than the web app in the browser). It often causes my entire phone to freeze (closing it fully from the multitasking screen unfreezes the phone) - I have an iPhone 6- I can't imagine the experience on an iPhone 4!
I don't mind the separate messaging app. I do mind the new message notifications appearing on both apps. I do really mind it when the app claims I have 8 or 9 notifications when I have 1- I have to go to my PC and click the mark as read button to clear this.
I don't mind being shown the top stories. I do mind being shown the same stories in the afternoon that I was shown in the morning. How boring and irrelevant. At least with the old method of sorting I was shown new things each time I opened the app.
I use Facebook less and less each day because of annoying this like these.
Please tell me WHAT you are updating. I genuinely would not care if you updated the app every single day- but if you don't tell me what you've updated, how can I appreciate it?
And why on earth have you added a silly noise whenever I click a button?

New update - no change?

Latest version, then: seems exactly the same as before.

It's really pointless leaving any feedback here isn't it? An update with no noticeable changes every fortnight then I post the same review. First day after the update shows a stream of one star reviews with the same concerns and these are then buried as we approach the next meaningless update. Weird. Anyway - here's my usual review that lists the same problems (and the same problems everyone has) every two weeks...

Latest news stream is worse than ever - totally out of sync with 'Most Recent' (the option everyone seems to want) and full of days old nonsense.

Separate Messenger app uses needless memory on my phone and I could really do without it.

The fortnightly updates are a great wheeze - all the negative reviews get archived once a fortnight and so anyone reading them doesn't see the complaints about being forced to install Messenger, regular crashes and a stupid news feed system that makes it hard to use FB the way you want (ie 'Most Recent').

A cynical strategy from a cynical company. Shame users wishes aren't listened to... and are now archived once a fortnight to start afresh. This just isn't a company that seems to listen to it's user base.

News Feed

Updated today on the iPad and the app can't make its mind up. It keeps switching it's format from the old format to one similar to the iPhone.
It's still crashing when you're reading links which is really annoying when you've finished reading the link you clicked on from your newsfeed and then clicked on another story from that link and when it crashes, you can't find that story again because there is no history for the pages you've read or started to read.

Also, it would be nice to actually but in the version history what you've actually done rather than the same thing you've been putting for months that doesn't inform anyone of what you've done. Are you sneaking in things you don't want us to know about?
