Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Facebook doesn’t run GPS in the background unless you give us permission by turning on optional features that require this.
What's New in Version 34.0
Thanks for using Facebook! To make our app better for you, we bring updates to the App Store every 2 weeks. You can update the app automatically (without checking back here) by going to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Automatic Downloads and turning on Updates.
Every update of our Facebook app includes improvements for speed and reliability. As other new features become available, we’ll highlight those for you in the app.
New update - no change?
Latest version, then: seems exactly the same as before.
It's really pointless leaving any feedback here isn't it? An update with no noticeable changes every fortnight then I post the same review. First day after the update shows a stream of one star reviews with the same concerns and these are then buried as we approach the next meaningless update. Weird. Anyway - here's my usual review that lists the same problems (and the same problems everyone has) every two weeks...
Latest news stream is worse than ever - totally out of sync with 'Most Recent' (the option everyone seems to want) and full of days old nonsense.
Separate Messenger app uses needless memory on my phone and I could really do without it.
The fortnightly updates are a great wheeze - all the negative reviews get archived once a fortnight and so anyone reading them doesn't see the complaints about being forced to install Messenger, regular crashes and a stupid news feed system that makes it hard to use FB the way you want (ie 'Most Recent').
A cynical strategy from a cynical company. Shame users wishes aren't listened to... and are now archived once a fortnight to start afresh. This just isn't a company that seems to listen to it's user base.
Ditch the Big Brother
Facebook is is a very good way to keep in touch with people all over the world.
We need more control over the information we put out there. We should be able to remove our posts EN BLOC without any bother. We should be able to choose to delete everything between two dates and, just as we do with emails, scroll down through stuff on our wall, mark certain items and then, by clicking a single button, delete all those marked items.
When we set privacy levels, they should stay set until WE change them.
Yes, and why can't we cut and paste any more?
And when I take part in one conversation, I don't want all my other Fb friends to be alerted to the fact.
Most Recent Feeds
Overall it's not a bad app... But I'm only giving it 2 stars because of my continued frustration!!!!
I would really like to see my most recent feeds without having to keep selecting most recent... I want this to be my default. I don't want to see what Facebook thinks I want to see. Having to change it EVERYTIME I open the app is driving me insane!!!!!
... Oh, and it would be useful to know what you've done to 'improve' the app each time there's an update!!
