Excellent Service And Forward thinking


I have been a customer of First Direct for many years and they are an amazing bank. They even admit when something has gone slightly wrong and put it right there and then. First Direct are always looking to improve their services and technology to make banking easy for all with the proviso you are fully equipped with modern apps phones etc. I have everything with first direct which means I feel safe. I would love to dabble in the shares market and if they ever do a app that allows safe share buying with measured risk to suit individual preferences that would be awesome, taking the mystery out of shares!
Thanks for a great service, but never stop answering those phone that is the most valuable service to just talk to someone when you need to. 😀 10/10

Poor example of banking app


Updating my review after 3+ years of waiting for first direct to sort out their feeble attempt at mobile banking. I cannot believe that this app still has 48 hours of latency between transactions occurring and being reported.

It is without doubt a poor reflection of first direct as a consumer bank.

Regarding his recent overhauling of the user interface. Without wasting more time on the bells and whistles of cosmetics, Try addressing simple functions like looking at transactions sorted by debuts and credits! Meaning what’s been paid in and what left the current account.

The benchmark for mobile banking is still Barclays far superior in every dimension.

Time to wake up first direct!

This is such a poor second, actually third choice app for mobile banking. If you compare this to the Barclays mobile banking client the first direct app is a joke. Feels like a prototype that is still being worked on. Had very basic functionality. The most disappointing fact is that there is such a lag between transaction history refresh and actual banking transactions. It takes at least 24 hours before you see an accurate current account balance. Come on pls!!! We are living in a near real time society. I don't want to see what my balance was yesterday. I can live with some latency but FD are a distance behind the competition.

Fix it or be left behind is my simple message.



I love First Direct, it's so simple, everyday life is so stressful but with being a member of First Direct lives just that bit easier to manage, I love it & call centre staff are on hand 247, day & especially throughout the night, no matter what time I call, no matter what the issue, query, discrepancy or problem maybe, every time First Direct answer the phone to me (day or night) they are always lively professional, warm welcoming & listen to my queries, I'd never move from First Direct, I've encouraged friends & family to jump ship & move there existing finances & bank accounts over to First Direct due to I have complete faith & confidence in all they do, say & there achievements, best loan rates also.... 10/10
