COLLINS EASY LEARNING
Collins Easy Learning French Grammar and Practice has been designed for all those learning French at SCHOOL, at WORK or at HOME. It provides easily accessible information in an easy-to-use App. Key grammatical points are highlighted. A full glossary gives clear explanations of grammatical terminology.
What's New in Version 1.1

- Added support for the newest Apple devices.

Needs more flexibility
This is a potentially good program but it is spoilt by its inflexibility.
It does not allow both the formal and informal use of 'you' when answering the exercises - it does not tell you which it requires each time so you get the answer wrong if you don't choose the one it wants that time! The emphasis is mainly on the informal which is not the most appropriate to use if you are a tourist - the general rule we have always understood to be ' if in doubt, use vous'.
Also it would be helpful to have a translation of the exercises where you have to provide just one additional word.
Another annoying feature is that you are marked wrong if you miss a bit of punctuation, even a simple dash! Surely the correctness of the grammar is what should
be being marked.
I find this app incredibly helpful and very good value. My only complaint is that I cannot access the necessary acute and grave accents on my keyboard, which affects the scoring. I would prefer it to be less stringent in its marking.
Collins should be doing better than this. The app looks like it just walked out the 1980's. It's about as much fun as toothache. It looks terrible, it's functionality is clunky, and yes, you guessed it, another app that just nags you with in app purchases at extortionate prices. You should be ashamed Collins.
