A Step Forward....

Two or three years ago...a robot fighting game was born....AND IT WAS AMAZING! Maybe there were a few flaws but everything, and I mean EVERYTHING has been either touched up or completely changed in this, the new sequel to the hopefully on going franchise of J-Game's Robot Battle!

The first game, Robot Battle, was, in my opinion, one of the best games on the App Store and still is to this day! The colouring was fabulous, the gameplay was immersive and the music was just brilliantly done....everything about the previous game was great and when I heard that there was a sequel I GOT SO EXITED.

I ran home, chucked my things from school on the floor and downloaded it......

The original already had me drawn in and exited about this genre in gaming and when the sequel came out it had all of the features of the original, even more locations and improved variation in settings and time periods, beautiful and smooth controls and most importantly of all...the graphics, the music and the sound effects were more advanced and had more variety! BUT....that is not to say it doesn't have it's problems as well!

PROBLEMS: The graphics are nice but unfortunately the robots have been toned down a little bit....the settings and scenery are beautiful and have more variety like I said in the paragraph above but the robots are the same exact ones from the original game, don't look as realistic or as clear as the first game and their attacks are slow and drone-ish...

The title screen really killed the game's feel for me! The first one had a really old looking, rusty and corroding metal background which really emphasised the fact that you were in a type of apocalyptic world that only robots inhabit and it gave you a real feel and connection with the game's time period and world...where as this game has sleek, smooth, blue and silver lines and flowing backgrounds that look cutting edge and look like they have been made in a place run by Steve Jobs! It is just a real let down compared to the first game and the fact that the robots are all the same AND HAVE BEEN TONED DOWN just really angers me....

Overall I think this is a rather good game with just some minor problems that bothered me....some of the music from the original is still there and the locations and gameplay of it isn't too bad, but in my opinion...I would recommend playing the original first and THEN PLAYING ROBOT BATTLE 2 side by side....and I will let you make your decision on which is best....thank you for reading my review....this is Nathan Curtis....signing off....

To sum up: Better than the first game in some ways but not as gripping or worldly as the first one due to some MAJOR let downs....try the original game first....
