Fine, but needs more features
This worked first time I tried to connect to my GoFlex home, and I saw my files and folders correctly. Since this is how the product was advertised, 10/10 for that capability.
However, to be really useful, it needs to be able to send files to other apps, eg Pages, numbers, Goodreader etc, and also to allow those apps to send files to it - ie to upload to the GoFlex. Failing this latter feature, which could be complex, I admit, it should have the ability to upload from files stored in the iPad's music and picture libraries etc.
All in all, pretty good and excellent for quick viewing of GoFlex contents, but needs more features to be really useful. Then it would be 5 stars.
GoFlex Access app
After reading the negative feedback then trying the app anyway I felt I simply must write my first review because it is a very good app. I really do not understand why some guys have been negative about it. I suspect (although I may be wrong) they simply have not tried hard enough or done any reading about how to use it.
I found it very good, it allows me to open my photos, play music and do everything it says using my iPad.
Very good app, would certainly recommend it.
If only it did what you may expect of it!
What a fantastic concept, it's a shame that its absolutely rubbish!
It does not run in the background, so you cannot do anything else other than the one thing like play some music and therefore it is hammering the battery because the screen has to be on, yep absolute pants!
Then to add insult to injury it doesn't support any of the standard video formats, AVI Etc, to be honest giving this app one star is a little to much in my eyes as even when you rename the drives on your local network it doesn't relay that when you remotely log on & there is no way of changing the names through the app so I am constantly opening the wrong drive for what I'm looking for.
If you want something like this that actually works go down the route of making your own server, for the money you save not buying the seagate drive you will spend more but it'll work!
I am so disappointed with this purchase, I just hope that they develop the software really soon because I have a 3TB £150 paper weight on my desk!
